yeah there were other Matrix threads, I didnt read them because I hadnt seen the movie yet and am too lazy to scroll back and find them - if it bothers you stop reading the thread

So anyway, saw it a few days ago and was very underwhelmed. I got the sense of been there, done that. The 10 minute fight scenes of stop motion karate got boring, Neo's dress was f*****g gayer than Nahualli, the plot was jerky and a lot of the lines were just lame. The romance between Neo and Trinity was stale and bland. Beyond that they should leave their grandiose, disconnected jumble of philosophy to the professionals.
To add insult to injury they gave Cornel West a bit role, the white-hating Afrocentrics professor at Harvard (well Princeton now) who published his own rap CD and called it scholarship, then got mad and cried racist when the President of Harvard criticized him.
I was just thoroughly dissapointed with teh movie, I felt like I was watching part 1 for the second time, but none of the wow factor or newness was there this time. I was more impressed by the special effects of X2, and enjoyed the movie much more.
2 stars out of 5 for me
Anyone else who really felt like the movie didn't live up to its expectations and bordered on sucking?

The only reason someone wouldn't like this movie is because they couldn't follow the big words. The storyline is f*****g phenomenal, and the god damn action sequences on the highway, and even the fights are brilliant.
The romance was bland. WOW< THANKS! People like you shouldn't write reviews, leave it to someone with greater intelligence then cows.

and yes the romance was bland, because Keanu Reaves has the emotional range of a robot

yeah the Wachejhjrewt brothers are big fans of his Kbarr, I saw an interview with them. Probably why all the major leaders sans Neo are black, and the city of Zion engages in afro-centric drum beating rituals lol

the only thing bad about the matrix is the rave/love scene, and the fact that will smith almost would of been Neo if he hadn't turned it down.

I knew it was going to suck before it came out, I saw the first one and it was enough for me.
And as for the plot, its the age old "what if life was all a dream?" concept. It's been done a thousand times in movies, shows, books, short stories, and 3 year olds with a good enough imagination.
Fight scenes and special effects do not impress me as they do some other people (my uncle works for ILM, so I've basically already seen it all). So a movie basically needs a good story to keep me interested, which the Matrix lacks.

I went to see Matrix: Reloaded because I wanted to see tight action scenes, not because I yearned for uninhibited love between Neo and Trinity.
I liked the movie.

The motorcycle scene was good yes but no other fight scene in this movie was well done. That 15 minute fight seen was so f*****g fake looking it was a joke. If you thought that was well done then I feel sorry for you.
The story was ok and this had nothing to do with the so called 'Big words'
The movie sucked both my nuts for 95% of the movie. was funny though going with my girl and she says why the hell didn't they just leave the wires on him when he was doing his 7million gay jumps and kicks

Appreciate the work that went into that 15 minute fight scene and take it for the entertainment it's worth. Not break down every micro pixel and say how lame it is. If you could do any better you wouldn't be sitting here posting on realpoor.

That's like saying any CG fight scene is decent just because of the work that went into it as well as don't b***h about it because we can't do better, f**k man that fight scene had serious problems period.

I strongly disagree, you think most people who saw this movie gave a rats ass what reviews it got?!? Not f*****g likely, sure some people liked it and sure a lot of people hated it, I know many people who thought both, but in the end they are taking the $$ to the bank and that MAINLY has to do with the first movie - sequels are RARELY ever better!!
Bruce Almighty sucked, I laughed like twice, it was a dumb ass story but hell it did make a shitload of money too and obviously if people saw movies due to the reviews out there basically nobody would have went too see Jim's latest flick

On a somewhat related note... Bruce Almighty did blow chunks (wow it got old fast!), but Daddy Day Care was surprisingly good. I was somewhat dreading it as I was kidnapped to the theater, but it turned out to be one of the better movies I've seen recently.
