So it is a program within a program...
Looking at Bane, Neo sees the fire outline of Smith in what was beleved to be "the real world".

Am I the only one who thinks Matrix 3 is going to suck more than the 2nd one did? The convoluted philosophical horseshit plotline of the Wachowski brothers is just weak.
The first one was an awesome movie - the 2nd one sucked, 3rd looks even worse.
Return of the King on the other hand - looks unreal. I saw the first 2 LoTR twice each in the theatres, will probably do the same for this one.

I have a tendency to agree with you Vekril on this one. I will see it though for pure entertainment but I don't see it suckingme in like the first Matrix did.
As far as LOTR WOWZA YOWZA!

I liked the second Matrix =/
A lot of subtle layers if you invest in the deconstruction.
Then again, I liked the second Highlander too so...

Just STFU and just see "Lost In Translation". Best Bang for your entertainment dollar and although Sofia Coppola's acting was a waste of celluloid in Godfather 3, her directing and writing ability shine in this film.

I think Matrix 2 was a great film, if the significance escaped you, then it's your loss. Perhaps WWF Raw would be more up your alley. I like the fact they had a story to tell and didn't compromise by cutting it short. The concept of distributing a story over two feature films in one year is a great idea.
I hope Return of the King will be good. They have a lot to pack into one film. I am looking forward to the extended version of the Two Towers. I hope that it makes up for some very questionable (some might say, pointless) storyline changes. Overall, I think the LoTR film series is very good, and very courageous on the part of the money people backing the film, but I think the script was dumbed down for folks who are more comfortable with text messaging than the very elegant prose of Prof. Tolkien's original work. If you want to experience the best performance of the Lord of the Rings, get the BBC Radiophonic Workshop's radio theater production. It is 13 one hour episodes and features Sir Ian Holm as Frodo.

Spoken like a typical liberal Arinwulf - if a person doesn't share your tastes or opinions, then they must be stupid or vulgar. I am quite educated and well read, I love philosophy, and I hate wrestling. I just happen to think the Wachowski brothers are full of shit, their ideas suck, and they ruined a perfectly good action movie with a general philosophical underpinning (Matrix 1) by going too heavy into their convoluted horseshit in the 2nd one.
In a few short words so you are sure to understand - they tried to do too much, and as a result, failed.

I disagree. I think Matrix 2 was one of the best movies I have ever seen. I really don't care all too much for the LoTR movies. I can only be so interested by a story I already know.
However, The rave scene in Matrix 2 was the must gutwrenching shit I have ever had to sit through, ditto that for the **** scene. Morpheus is more **** attractive to me then Carrie Anne Moss, and I'm not even gay. Her and Keannu intertwined pasty asses made me want to hurl. The only other things that could of been better in the movie would be a little more gun play (almost non existant in Matrix2) and possibly a little less godlike neo.
edit: spelling

I'm going to reserve judgement on the second matrix til I see the third one, since the stories are supposed to be continuing.
If it comes together, excellent, if not...

Like the captain said...don't judge until you see the third one. It's really one 4.5 hour movie, and the second was largely setup for the resolution in the third.

Fekril, I know this concept will slip past your empty skull, but not everyone in this country has accepted the political polarization that you neocons and the marxist represent. I am not a liberal. I oppose the marxist california government. I am not a neocon. I oppose the facist government in Washington DC. Since I am not a party hack I don't have to appologize for every sorry leader the 2 big parties foist upon us.
Now, having said that, what the f**k does political orientation have to do with your inability to understand a storyline that isn't just about exploding cars, shooting bad guys?
You are one of those tiny minded f***s that think the golden age of America was the 1950's and I think the concept of a society that was portrayed in Matrix 2 is just beyond your ability to accept. What would you have liked to see in New Zion? Little white houses with white picket fences with white men going to work, white children going to school and white women doing household chores in a party dress and pearls?
You, like the marxist airheads that think the 60s were the golden age are way behind the times and have NOTHING to offer society in its evolution.
So, STFU, watch the dukes of hazzard and drink a beer. That's the most we can expect of you.

Arin did you even read what I wrote? I said I understood their "vision" perfectly fine, but I think it is horseshit and too full of logical holes. Not that I "didn't get it" but rather I "didn't like it." Just like I understand the views of Karl Marx, but find them repugnant on every level.
I never even mentioned the African savage rave scene, that was other posters, although I happen to agree it sucked.
Once more Arin, please read this twice if you need to: I understood what they were trying to do, but I think their ideas were s****y, the implementation flawed and full of contradictions, and overall they tried to do too much in the movie, resulting in a product that was significantly inferior to the first movie.
Finally, your attempts to label me an Archie Bunker just wont work. You know I am a libertarian, not a true blue conservative. And the golden age of America was far from the 50s - if anything I might be tempted to call the 80s the golden age, before political correctness took over.

The biggest contradiction in the matrix is saying that the nukes were ineffective against the machines (taken from the animatrix, the second renaissance), but now their primary weapon is EMP. NUKES PUT OUT EMP, THAT'S HOW IT WAS f*****g DISCOVERED.
anyways...mull that over.

Why did the rave scene suck so bad....Ive heard this from a few people on realpoor, but I've never actually seen the "rave scene" in the matrix.
I mean what the hell...

ROTK trailer was freaking sweet and Shelob will be in it so it is sweet. The huge battle in Gondor will make Helm's deep look like a skirmish.

I'm sure RotK will be good, but I just can't get past the way they keep cramming Arwen (Live Tyler) in there for no good reason. They should have left all of her scenes out of the two towers, and from the preview it looks like they will be squeezing her into return of the king as well. I hate to be some kind of purist n**d, but this really bothers me for some reason.
Really, both movies would be better if they just completely cut her out. She is barely mentioned in the books, I don't know why they gave her such a big (and pointless) part in the movies.

ROTK will be the best movie of the year.
My favorite dvd right now is Monty Python's Meaning of Life, just got it yesterday and have watched it about 4 times already.
