Re-made to reflect all sides.
Choices:
1. merge forums.
Basically, all games/everquest/content stuff in one forum
2. leave it alone, it's good how it is.
Leave things exactly how they are.
3. make a new political forum.
Create a new forum for political discussion.
This is just to gauge opinions, nothing here is guaranteed to happen.

It's a good poll idea, nothing against it at all. I'd prefer to capture the full opinion if the poll is gonna happen. After all, it's for mods/admins to get an idea what people want.

Like Compus said it's not 100% sure that it will be adopted but it can give a good idea to the mod about what we want.

One thing I see as a big problem with merging is the current Everquest forum crowd is mainly different from the General Chat crowd. Even I rarely read anything in that forum, 'cept to glance it over for NWS and board issues. Boards do have seperate forums for a reason, it helps people who don't read everything to easily find the content they are looking for.
Additionally, I really would hope to avoid dragging the giant "guild retards" thread into general chat, simply because it draws conversation there and away from new threads. After a while, something like that just becomes a time delayed irc window, instead of a messageboard.
As far as the political forum, it could be a good thing for people looking for serious discussion. There are options, we could make it Work Safe only, and limit the content to topic (avoid blatant derailments). Either way, it helps organize the board because people can find things they are interested in reading much more efficiently.

I think it'd be great to have a political forum in it's own nastiness. I don't care to read about what all the worthless liberals and foreign trash's opinions are and would generally love it if they f****d off and died.

Ya, I'm not against politics, but believe it or not I come to realpoor from EQ and usually read it for geek inspired things - MMO's, Rpg's, stupid posts, flaming people, etc.
Politics just is too real for the fakiness of realpoor, and if I didn't have to sift through 30000 political posts id be much obliged.

I guess move the political threads to a different forum. It really doesn't matter what forum they're in, they're still going to be worthless for the most part.
I know I post in many of those threads but I find that I end up taking jabs at people more often than not now. Very little actual discussion happens on this board about anything.

I click View Posts Since Last Visit, glance at all the new threads except for SWG and D&D, skip threads I don't like. You can usually see if a thread is political or not just by the subject so really there's no need for it. There's a lot of political topics because of the election coming up and for a little while after election, there will still be a lot. After that, it won't be used that much. I don't see a real need for it.
