you want to do something neet, try combining an rpg with a sf2 style fighting game.

Add the twitch factor to a game like eq, and it would rock, especially for pvp.

Think about having to do a shorukin(sP>) in order to cast a fireball. Skills help affect power, accuracy, damage, and most importantly, ability to link combos.

think how much fun playing a monk would have been, and it was about the most twitch character in teh game.

Thats something where its not just limited resources holding you back. Think of a naggy run where the tanks had to block when naggy attacked, damage dealers had to land their combos to get the dps needed. That would be a fun encounter.

Latency is a big problem with those. Otherwise, FPS gameplay would have hit MMOs a long time ago. Heck, already I lose WoW fights in PvP due to lag.

Who knows - maybe there is a way to do it.

Don't count on DDO right now...they are figuring out that NWN is free, while DDO is a monthly fee...yet NWN is better. Not to mention NWN2 is about to come out.

Not sure about Vanguard, but Dark & Light is a new generation of MMO game IMHO. Massive PVP, huge terrain, ONE server, multiple kingdoms...etc...

Interesting, where do you get your info.

I played the alpha the other day(DDO), looks like its a "Go" project to me.
