only if you pick the wrong people

as long as you play safe, ie not trade someone with a caution rank or someone who has a low rep, you should be fine.

All the idiots are going for the scammers.

There's tons of scamming everywhere, but when you take every step and precaution its completely avoidable.

Take everything slow and read up on the mods own articles for tips.

Edit: Perhaps not completely avoidable, but your looking at slim chances.

It's really hard to say. There's no yes or no answer to that. Basically like R1ky has said it depends on the people you pick.

More attempts to scam happens in the RuneScape zone, so take caution there. If you're a WoW player then you are basically safe.

If someone tells you that they have good rep from so and so place, don't take their word. Always investigate on your behalf. Before you get right into a trade, always get to know the person you are doing business with.

For more information, check out some articles. They will help you stay safe

Oddly enough, I've gotten a few PM's that looked to be scams O.o, 2 to be exact. They were by different accounts, but from the way they wrote, it appeared to be the same person. I know they were probably scammers because I replied asking for them to post in my thread and never heard back from either of them >_>

A lot of scammers on all forums.
I'm currently in 3 forums mostly. I would say this is the lowest amount of scammers.
Most forums have 50% of scammers for sure.
The legits can turn into scammers when holding something they would consider valuable.

I'v seen a lot of moderator - admins - trusted members - high posts - leechers - scam. The right opportunity they will scam. Lets say a person $10 worth of anything, They wouldn't scam that, They would wait for the right opportunity for erm...lets say $100-200+

Dangerous to deal with people you don't know. You are taking a risk.

Scammers can be at any post count. Trusted or not.
You are risking no matter who it is. Research about the person aswell.

This also makes me wonder. I'm going to be selling my account or trying to (need to work up the "credits) and I'm a bit weary of selling it to a scammer.

Even giving your account information out before being able to close the deal is bad (thats without giving them the secret word either.)

I am taking my time with mine. Have had a few pm's from people with 0 post count, and they obviously didn't read my trade. All the info they asked for was already there.

I am playing it very cautiously, maybe it'll sell, maybe it won't. I'm in no real hurry.

Best thing you can do is not be in a rush.

Do not sell it period to 0 post counts. Especially if they have broken english. Read the article by R1ky about Chinese scammers. They have hacked PayPal accounts which will resolve to a chargeback.

Yeah I refuse to even talk with people who use broken English. Sorry if you're legit. I don't mean to be a j**k, but I'm just protecting myself. I've gotten about half a dozen messages from people who send a pm in broken English.

That's probably the best advice you'll ever hear about trading, if they can't form a coherent sentence, don't give them a second thought, they're 99% of the time going to be a chinese scammer or a 12 year old, and both ways, you lose.

There are scammers i must admit... But not all of them are, Only who you choose to work with... Try trading with people with No Cancelled.
Only people with Sold's Because then you know they are trust worthy.
Yeah, It depends on who you are trusting
I would allso suggest to trade with people who have more than 50 posts, Because that way it makes them wana stay on the forums if you are trading with a 1 post guy then it means there not too bothered about 1 post... 2 minutes lol

r1ky is right, only if you run into the wrong people. Some people believe that
someone can even be trusted without any feedback. If it's too good to be
true it probably is.

Btw, There is always scammer and people who ruin and break rules in everything. But they pretty much are always caught thanks to the kind moderators and everyone else.

I'm kinda nervous about this as well.

Luckily I'm selling instead of buying.. it will be hard to scam me.. unfortunately I have to deal with people not buying my products in fear of being scammed =(
