I doubt the ones who came down on court will get paid. they will more than likely get arrested for coming down on the court which is illegal. any fans who come down on the court or any field of play during a sporting event deserve whatever happens to them.

Oneal's punch looked like it landed pretty hard heh. I don't think he can justify that one w/ self defense.

he went after the wrong guy in the crowd, the guy wearing the tan hat is the one who first threw something at artest then he went up and punched the guy next to him.... f**k the fans should get sued not the players.

Yeah, that was friggin' nuts.
They were pouring their drinks and popcorn and shit all over that guy.
He just went berserk. I was like "Holy shit, this is the best sports fight I've ever seen!"
then I remembered bob barker vs. adam sandler in happy gilmore... that one was better, but only a little!

It boggles my mind that Artest can "restrain" himself when it came down to attacking Ben Wallace after being pushed in the throat, but a beer can comes flying in from a 5'10" 175lbs guy and Artest is striaght up into the crowd beating ass...
Now I'm from Detroit so obviously I'm biased and love the Pistons, but either way the Pacers crossed the line by bringing it in the crowd, whether or whether not he got hit in the face with a plastic cup of beer. Those are huge rules, and plus he even went after the wrong guy, showing it was more then just the cup of beer that got to him. After that, of course fans are going to stick up for eachother, and of course players are going to stick up for eachother... The guys that went to the floor to challenge 7'0' 250lbs guys are just morons anyways.
Either way hefty suspensions should happen, and Artest honestly, should just be done. The guy is a mental case and snapped again.... When does the NBA draw the line for an out of control player? I dunno, but Jackson will get just as much cuz he followed into the crowd... O'neal prolly will get it lighter since he stayed on the court.
People can make the fans out to be as out of control as they want, but the truth of the matter is, that would have happened anywhere if players started attacking people in the crowd... throwing beer, popcorn, and the occasional chair is just minimal compared to what a threatened fan could have doen, like pull out a knife, or some other type of weapon, especially when you are dealing with a psycho like Ron Artest.

Whats gonna suck is more likely the entire Pacers team is going to get suspended. The NBA rule states that a player may not leave the bench at all during an altercation, even if he has intentions of breaking up the issue. That entire team cleared as soon as Artest and Jackson jumped into the stands.
Well the rematch will be held on Christmas day in Indiana, followed by the game that was supposed to be the most hyped game for the year, Miami vs LA Lakers.
Go Suns!!!!

You guys are retarded. Those Pistons fans were horrible. Did they all deserve it, no. I'd say the only person who was really out of luck was the old lady in the bottom of that pile. But other than that, the fans were just as bad.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some players sued the fans.
I thought it was interesting how the calmest person in the whole thing was rasheed wallace.
And Artest didn't give a hard foul, just a small push. No he shouldn't have laid down on the scorers table, but up to that point he wasn't doing anything.

Yeah you're right, but Big Ben was p****d being down 15 points and getting fouled with 40-45 secs left in the game doesnt make sense. So his shove to Artest was out of frustration. Shit like that happens in every game. The refs did their job, they tossed him.
Off the topic: The Mavericks new alternate uniforms designed by Sean Jean, are pretty damn ugly.

up to the point where he ran and started wildly swinging away at anything he could find that was half his size and in front of him like some crazed rabid animal that should be shot and put down?
is that the man you are ferreing too?
again, he had a beer thrown at him. show me any stadium where that hasnt happened.
His monkey ass lost it, and it'll cost him HUUUUUUUUUGE in both fines, lawsuits, and suspensions

I don't think any of us said that they wouldn't get sued, we were just saying the blunt of the blame should be on Artest, and other players on the Indiana team. Obviously some players took it too far but when a professional athlete, especially on the opposing team, is beating down your friend next to you, you are gunna have his back, just like Artest's teammates jumped in to help him. The difference is, while Artest had a few teammates to jump in for him, the guy that threw the beer had about 10,000 or whatever people behind him.
The foul that Artest gave to Wallace was a hard foul, and even if the "hardness" wasn't up to your standards, it was a flagrant foul. The retaliation was out of frustration and pushes like that happen in tons of NBA games. What brought this incident to a new level was Artest and the Pacers willingness to punch out people in the crowd. Period.
Speaking of which,
Anyone see on the replays when Jermaine was leaving the arena, after someone threw a chair at him, Tinsley came out with a trash collector thing, wielding it like he was going to hit someone... I thought that was kinda funny...

It was a border line flagarant foul. What made it so bad was pacers had the game in hand, no reason for a intentional foul like it was by Attest.
Attest laid on the scores table, that itself was a taunt. He should have got up and just walked to the locker room and nothing would have happened. He laid there for a min plus at least, and i am sure if there was audio there some shit talk was coming on.
That could have happened anywhere with the same results.
The worst one was really Oneal crushing that guy as he was getting up. That was not the guy that charged Attest on the floor it was a guy that was behind him. In his defense he never made a threating move that i have seen from any video angle that same guy got attacked by a Asst coach and another player and as he was getting up got TKO'd by Oneal. All he has to say was there was no place safe in the areana and he was just trying to get out of the way since there were players all over the stands and shit.
