My bet: Hurly is the one additional person that came from the island

Somehow I seem to recall seeing Hurly either on the plane, or in line...as for speculations, I don't want to start doing that. I think it's rather unfair to start that now, especially for JC not having seen any episodes, Banz. Bad form.
I don't understand why people have to post spoilers for something.../coughxisdickheadfornarutofuckhead, but I guess they have their reasons.

When did we see Hurley on the plane or line? Unless it was the last episode I haven't seen him until they got on the island.
He is about the right age, he would know how to eat like an islander.
He took over the job of accounting for people on the island...

One minor thing that we noticed this last time around:
There is a scene with the little boy reading a comic book. There's a polar bear in that comic book.
The group kills a polar bear.
That can lead to some interesting speculation.

ok Ethan and his group want the baby....why because he/she is going to be a savior...or the anitchrist if raised by anyone other then Claire. They are in a limbo/percatory(sp). Its going to turn into a light vs. dark show. Locke has become one with the island, he is the mystic sorta....helping them along the path of light, jack is the leader trying to make sure they survive...kate is torn between the bad boy and the doc...the bad boy (name escapes me) will become a "hero" near the end. Hurly is comic/tension relief (more will be explored about him later I think)...the rest are just fill-ins. Saide got hit in the head by the french lady.

Ezzan and I both watch it..outside of the various CSIs, it's the only regular TV show that we watch..>I read that they filmed 23 episodes...wonder how long this season will actually be..
It is damn good so far, I'm just hoping that it doesn't have a lame ending

agreed. It was only slated for 7 eps...the ratings took off so they finsihed a seasons worth. Tell ya the truth I hope its only 1 season. If not, I can forsee a Gillian's X-File Island.

What episode did they kill the polar bear in? I though I had seem all but the premiere (which I have on TiVo, but had not gotten through yet), but since I haven't seen the polar bear, I must have missed another one.
