What's up with this, then? How come so many people are into gothic style / behavior in Second Life? I mean, I know there's a lot of them out there, but why would they all be attracted to SL in particular? This isn't meant to goth bashing or anything, I'm genuinely curious.

Well, I wouldn't say there's a specific attraction within SL that appeals to the gothic crowd, it's just that all the "misfit" groups are eager to find a place where they can exercise their … ways, and not stand out. SL gives you the possibility of being a weirdo among weirdoes. Just look at the furries!
