So I was talking to a guy from Texas, and we came upon the subject of chilli. I was always under the impression chilli was largely beans with a spattering of beef. Apparently not the case. Chilli was originally all beef until THOSE DAMN MEXICANS, NAH ARE YOU LISTENING!! substituted beef with beans BECAUSE THEY ARE A POOR BUNCH OF f*****s.
And so a lot of chilli we find today is mostly beans. I bring this up because I sent to a soup place and ordered me some chilli. and sure enough, it was the mexican raped version of chilli.
Anyone know good places (preferably in So Cal) that serve good chilli?

there was a place in Mentone that had decent chili its been a few months since I was there last so I forget if it was raped with beans or not... think it was primarily beef though. Something something Cattle Company in Mentone <chuckles> not that it helps much I'll see if I can get the name and address later.
