If you use acceleration you end up having to lift it up sometimes. You move left a couple fast a short distance and the cursor goes across the screen. Then maybe you go right slowly, so you end up moving way right to get to the right side of the screen. Then you go left fast again - barely moved the mouse but the cursor's all the way on the left. Eventually you have to pick up the mouse and recenter it.

You could turn acceleration off of course, but I tend to like it once I get used to the speed settings.

By higher sensitivity, what do you mean? To me high sensitivity means you can move the cursor really far by barely moving the mouse at all (say 1/2 inch to an inch for full side-to-side cursor movement, without ever lifting my wrist), which is the way I like it for doing real work, or games like EQ. But I can't aim worth a damn in UT that way, so I've been setting to fairly low sensitivity, so you have to move the mouse like 6-10 inches to completely cover the screen. Which is sort of frustrating because you have to move your whole hand all the time instead of just flicking your wrist, but I was hoping I'd get better control that way maybe.

higher sensitivity, once you get use to it, means that you can spin around more quickly and shoot your target

however ive noticed if you put it too high in UT2003 (they have REALLY big sensitivity changes set up there) ... it can actually make your aim worse because you have no way to move just a small amount, it will always skip over some pixels

i think i set mine at 6 in the UT2003 settings

Why can't they make their god-damn mice for left handed people???

Follow these steps to turn your mouse into a left-handed device:

Click Start, mouse-over Settings, and select Control Panel.
Double-click the Mouse icon.
Under "Button configuration" on the Button tab, select Left-handed.
Click Apply.
You just toggled your mouse buttons to reflect a real left-handed mouse.

Not worried about the buttons, I'm used to them in right handed mode. It's the shape of the mouse they are designed for right handed people
Grrr....
