the mx 700 with my usage can be left off for 3 days before it goes dead .. the good thing is that it does charge fast so when i notice the low battery warning light flashing, i just throw it in the charger whenver i don't need it use it for a few minutes =)

How fast is "fast" recharging? Are we talking a 10lb radio-controlled car tempo? Like... "Three weeks of charging for 30 seconds of amazing use!" or what

can you just put it on the charger when you go to sleep every night? or will that wear down the battery life

Nah, I think that's fine.

And as for charging..if I notice it blinking red while I'm playing a game, I'll throw it in the charger while I'm running or waiting to respawn or something, and it'll be more than enough to keep it going. Pretty schweet.

agreed, leaving in charger overnite, i noticed it'll shut off when it's full, so i don't see a prob in the near future leaving it on it's cradle at nite

Batteries can develop a memory tho, so if you only run down the battery like 1/4 way and recharge it from there everytime, the battery will only be able to hold that much charge forever. Shocked

Are they really $70 good tho? I cant justify that much for a mouse..although the mx500 looks nice?

I think its worth the cash if you game alot.. the back and forward buttons are nice for surfing the net too.. if you already have a laser mouse its prolly not worth it just for the cordless but if you dont already or need a new one its definitly a good buy... it just takes AA batteries too so even if they die on the recharge its like 7 bucks for new ones.

they're just rechargable AAs...can easily replace them if they start crapping out

Just got an mx700. Seems pretty nice so far. I'm curious if everyone installed the software that goes with it. It seems to work fine without me installing anything, and some of the reviews said the software that came with it was a little buggy. As it is now it works great - what do I miss if I don't install it?

if you don't install the software those two buttons, scroll up and scroll down don't work and the "ALT+TAB" button won't work.

Follow these steps to turn your mouse into a left-handed device:

Click Start, mouse-over Settings, and select Control Panel.
Double-click the Mouse icon.
Under "Button configuration" on the Button tab, select Left-handed.
Click Apply.
You just toggled your mouse buttons to reflect a real left-handed mouse.

I personally never liked logitechs .. they seemed to move on the screen differently than microsofts and it screwed with my Unreal Tournament mojo.

As for the wireless optical mice (that I've seen .. i havnt seen this one u guys are talking about) from logitech I completely do NOT reccomend them.

heres why:

Logitech's wireless optical mice are set up such that they are ALWAYS blinking to detect movement. Even if you havn't touched the mouse in hours it will BLINK and BLINK A: wasting batteries and B: annoying the shit out of you

The microsoft wireless intellimouse explorer is *MUCH* better .. it has a pressure sensor for you hand so that when you arent using it the light remains OFF and when you are it remains ON. allowing for maximum battery efficiency.

If you leave the logitech one sitting around eventually it will die. If you leave the microsoft one sitting around it stays strong as ever.

Although I use rechargable batteries, this still is a nuisance.

just my 2cp !

the wireless ones suck

and some people like logitech mouse movements on the screen, but for me they totally f**k up my Unreal Tournament mojo.

i think they still do this, but the MX700 is RECHARGEABLE ... without charging it i can use it for a weekend, about 3 days, without it running out of juice.

the MX700 has been the highest rated wireless mouse for gaming. it's very sensative and sends position updates 985092852975038427 times per ms.. well i don't know that but i know whatever it is, it's a lot.

www.amazon.com has the lowest price for the mouse (unless you want one with no warantee from some cheesy sranty eye shop) $64.64 and free shipping!

But check this out...

If you order the mouse, and stick in WARCRAFT3MX as the 'promo code', you will get the new Warcraft 3 expansion "The Frozen Throne" for $2.84! I hate Warcraft 3, but I bet I can sell the expansion used (unopened) for $25.00 (retail is $32.99).

Haha crap, I just got mine from amazon, but I didn't know about the wc3 code. I've gotten used to it fast - the heaviness when you lift it was kind of weird at first.
