I bought the new G7 mouse thinking it was the best thing since sliced bread.

boy was i wrong.

The battery packs and charger it comes with sound like a great thing.
Never buying new batteries! charging while you use..amazing..

Except that i have to change the pack every f*****g day.
I barely have time to charge one pack before teh other one runs out.
And if you turn off your computer during the night, you won't even make it.

Do i have a s****y version of this mouse and should i return it? or do other people have the same problem?

Great mouse otherwise, but the battery situation sucks ass

I have the mx700 with the cradle. That's worked unbelievably well - I've never ever run out of mouse power unless I forgot to put it back in the cradle 2-3 days in a row, and now I never forget. And I use it a lot. Changing battery packs sounds like a pain in the ass to me.

Sadly, the right mouse button is going, and I'm going to have to get a new mouse soon. I'm afraid that nothing I buy will be as good as this one.

I ordered a Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman today, hopefully it doesn't suck as much as your mouse!

Using AA's isn't too bad. I just keep a package of them on my desk and when the batteries die they are swapped out in 30 seconds. Rechargeable would be nice, but I doubt I change my batteries more than once every 3-4 weeks so I wouldn't trade for having to swap every day.

Same here, cept maybe I have to swap batteries every 2 weeks or so. I'm only using this wireless HP mouse b/c it came w/ my PC and my good mouse crapped out a few months back, and im po'. My old mouse kicked ass, had it for about 4 years before it died. some microsoft logitech something, had two thumb buttons on the side, plus the standard two on top w/ mouse wheel, and wasn't cordless. Wireless mice suck :/

I used to have a logitech bluetooth mouse with rechargeable batteries - had to replace batteries every 4 days or so. Normal ones lasted maybe 10 days tops.

Switched to an optical Logitech and normal batteries lasted for weeks.

Now I use the Logitech MX 1000 Laser mouse that also comes with a charging station. Lasts 2-3 days when I forget to put it in, but the battery status indicator on the mouse serves as a good reminder. Even if it goes red, it still lasts a few hours.

The keyboard goes about a month so far with 4 AA batteries. It also has an off switch, but I always forget to turn it off at night Sad

I think it's out of warranty - I've had it probably three years or so I think. That's why I'm impressed that the batteries still hold a good charge - most rechargebles tend to turn to crap after one or two years.

I just have to remember not to push too hard on the button or it will stop registering. Hard to remember not to push too hard in the middle of a fight though Smile
