What is wrong with this latest patch? I am a Vista user and there was an arror you get upon exiting the game. Now, with the latest patch this gets fixed, so no more error when exiting, but the game loading now lasts much longer that it was before. Any ideas?

Are you sure that the patch caused your problem? I think you should consider some other operating system, that is – switch back to Windows XP, L2 works much better with it. And not only L2, other games and application will also perform better on a XP based configuration. Vista is still pretty much buggy.
