|
|
|
I find it enjoyable to push buttons. I think everyone knows that here, or mostly knows it. ANYwho, I was thinking about a conversation that I recently had with a friend of mine. We were talking about how screwed up the media is, and how liberal it has become. Yet, somehow, thru all the shit..a Republican president seems to make it into office. Why you ask?
Well, there are many points one could argue. Of course, from the lot of the liberal democrats here, there are no points worthy of a reply or serious consideration.
Consider this if you will: The war on Iraq. Sure, you hear about all the bad shit going on there. Liberals are just in a feeding frenzy of bloodlust swarming around, waiting for the next US death or casualty. Like vultures, they seem to think this is what they can live upon. They, the media, tends to either ignore, or push the nice stories to the back, or cover completely up all the good that has become of such a situation. They, who know full well, and are educated enough to know what they're doing, feed the mainstay "liberal" what to think and how to react. Yup. Most of the folks here posting liberal based views are nothing more than sheep. Instead of shutting up about things they know nothing of a total picture, they feel as though they are God themselves. They pass judgement upon those who do not eat from the same plate. Condemned are those who practice anything but the dronings of the masses of sheep. Good job!
Now, consider this: The President. People love to slam the president here, well, I should say mostly liberals, because they have been taught to respond as such. But considering the threads, like the "Bush knew about 9/11 before it happened", you have judged him already. Did you know that it was Clinton who knew about what would develop into 9/11 long before Bush did? Yup. He knew about what could potentially happen, and he actually tried to do something about it, after reading recently declassified documents. Yet, the blame is placed on President Bush for simply being there, and Clinton is completely ignored as a source of "something could have been done" or "more could have been done". He just had his little **** scandal and be done with it.
What I'm trying to convey, I guess other than laughing at liberals, is to think people. There is ALWAYS more to a story, yet you are too lazy to seek out answers on your own. You prefer to have them spoon fed to you, so you're a good little sheep in the way of the herd. Don't want to have differing opinions, for fear of being cast away from the herd, and the warmth of the safty blankey that you so desire. Just leave it to those men and women in the US Military to make it all possible, and then condemn them for not doing it fast enough, or PC enough. Yet, the job is done. It has been done since 1776. Not too shabby, if you ask me.
And another thing...what sometimes you liberals hide behind, the Bill of Rights. "I have the right to freedom of speech", etc... What you liberals tend to forget, that there are flip sides to the coin, and alot of folks tend to forget all the words after the first 5 or so..I think maybe anyone here calling themself a liberal should go read them, fully. Each and last word. Why? Because you keep f*****g it up when you hide behind them, or claim something's being abused, or someone's being abused and cry foul most loudly.
I tried to keep the bad words down, and I think I did pretty good. I hope you've either gotten a good chuckle, or that I totally offended you and p****d you off. If I did offend or p**s you off, please, this is directly pointed at you: Read more. Read the Bill of Rights. Read the Constitution. Read the things that others tell you not to read. Get both sides of a story and decide for yourself, how to react.
And so you know, I don't hate democrats. I rather enjoy their time in office as a vacation at times...it's the ignorant sheep who can't back their arguements with something valid and intelligent. Not those who just regurgitate what someone else said in such a way that it's well beyond their means to reply by. So if you actually become a democrat when you grow up and understand the way things work, you stand by your actual views, bravo to you.
I don't know if it's just me, and I just see all this due to my supra intelligence and IQ, or do the rest of you see everyone's vomitous replies as what they are?
Now, who want's some? Come get some.
In parting, a funny:

Because him and Gore were basically the same candidate?
Gore has little charisma and middle America wanted a more conservative agenda after 8 years of radical technological expansion and big business wanted a better deal. "Normal" people needed a break from change. So out of the tech sector and back to wartime politics, Bush would have gone back to Iraq with or without 9/11 I believe (just my opinion).
Not to labor the point but the victory was a narrow one, just to keep this article in perspective. Not a judgment on the victory, just a point that underscores the blandness of both candidates in the last election.
Not gonna argue, just depositing 2 cents.

I'd argue just on general principles, but I read that three times, then skimmed it a little at random, and I couldn't find anything to argue with, because I don't think you actually said anything

I will agree with that, as Saddam wanted to further destablize the Middle East...possibly with another invasion of Kuwait. He was a dangerous tyrant, needed to be sent to HELL.

Sure Banz, np.
BUT, I will mention, I'm looking for more of the spirit of the post, not replying to a specific. Analyzing such points is useless for the intent of this thread. That's why there's all the other posts about specific points.
Everyone has an opinion, and I respect that. It's when the "facts" that are used, in one fashion or another, it becomes abused. Does that make sense? When the line from opinion is crossed and attempted to be sold as fact, that's what bothers me.

"Fact" can be highly subjective when dealing with issues that brush up against personal feelings. Politics are a great way to p**s any number of people off because you can look at the same object and call it two different things objectively from each perspective.
Everything really is just a matter of opinion in relation to an event or "fact" (2 people can witness the same event and remember it totally differently). Most arguments try to appeal to a ethical principle so the combatant can assume a moral high ground as a place to dispense there own form of judgment in hopes of moral support from other people but in the end that moral high ground is still subjective as good and bad are a warped human construct.
We all have our unique perspective on the world and luckily basic morality follows a pretty close standard (at least in the west). But even here someone with f****d up brain chemistry can beat there kids heads in with a rock and feel totally fine about it.
Every argument is personal but cause every person has there own perspective that no one else could ever share (until we can record and playback lives).

The reason Paco doesn't really say anything (I couldn't find anything to argue at all) is because he A) doesn't define what a liberal is (IMO, republicans today are sometimes liberal in the philosophical sense, but certainly are different then what we consider liberals today) , and B) makes way too many generalizations.
And please, don't try to define liberal, I'm sure the only thing that will be said is "Liberals are people who hate america!!!11!"

Don't you ever tire of embarassing yourself? I feel bad for you, a little. You know the whole "better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, than open it and remove all doubt" thing? The impotent "I can't make a point, but I do know a dirty name" thing kind of wore thin in second grade, for most of us.

I don't define much, and remain generally speaking so that this covers a wide spectrum of readers. I don't define liberal, as I would be defining a person, and there really isn't a single person that would be a definition of the term. To me, being a liberal isn't entirely a bad thing. It just seems alot of negative terms have been used for both sides of late, and it bothers me on this level. I don't define who you are, you are the only one that can define yourself. I will, however, try to educate everyone to be a better person, who will be able to understand why they think or feel about something.
When I was 17-18 or so, I thought I knew it all. I was pretty much into the whole anarchy thing..f**k America, and all that rebelious crap. Then, you see things happen in the world. Americans die. We are not indestructable. We are not infailable. But we are. We are because we are a people who make up this country, the United States. We refuse to step down, to surrender, to sit there and take it. My anarchistic views changed and that's when I enlisted in the Army. So I can make a difference. I went in to get the beni's of education, but to serve my country and if needed, die for my country. I will, to this day and any day forth, die for my country if asked by my President in defense of this great Nation I live in.

The reason it's hard to see what you're saying is that nobody would really disagree with that, liberal or conservative. Being liberal (not that I identify with that label btw) doesn't mean surrendering, or sitting there and "taking" anything. But it does mean making sure that our solution isn't worse than the original problem, and that we don't become just like how we perceive our enemies to be. If we say, for instance "all I care about is my people, and I'll use any means necessary, and hurt anyone I have to, to further our interests", then we would be exactly like Al Quaeda, which is something I don't want to be said about us.

I hate to belabor the obvious, but surely I can't ever have given you the impression that I respect you. So how can you imagine me reading your impotent exclamations of frustration and doing anything but chuckling in pitying amazement? Are you really under the impression you can bait me by calling me names?
Not that you're a bad guy; I'm not trying to insult you gratuitously. You've got fairly refined tastes, you're pretty knowledgable about the way the world works, you're probably a perfectly fine guy to have a beer with or go hunting with or whatever. I just don't respect the way you think or argue, and you come across as a little overly insecure about your place in the world. Face it: we're probably never going to be friends. So you should probably just try to get over it and stop acting out - jumping out and calling people "big poopoo heads" or whatever just doesn't work for grownups.
Or just keep calling me names, and prove that you can't even learn when someone spells things out for you.

Because you only see bias when it is contrary to your world view and you only spot hypocrisy in those you disagree with. If you actually use your brain and objectively consider both sides of the story, it's very hard to call yourself a republican or a democrat in my experience, and impossible to come up with generalizations like "liberals are sheep". In reality most people are spouting the party line on both sides of the aisle. Labeling yourself as one or the other makes all of your decisions for you. Then you go and dig through the facts, not looking for the truth, but looking for evidence of your assumptions.
As far as the news goes, it's very hard to find unbiased information, so most people select a source of news that is biased in the same way that they are, and just reinforce their beliefs. It's easier than thinking.

Ha, sorry, not buying:)
You are a c**t and I imagine you are a c**t irl too. I'm just here to remind you. I know there are ppl you deal with in every day life who are too civilized to call you a c**t to your face.
I'm not.
I'll call you one here and I would say it to your face. I'm rather blunt like that:) Its one of my better qualities I think, you might disagree.
I see some of the shit you type and can't help but say to myself.
Myself, this guy is a f*****g whiny, liberal, c**t of a human. Myself, we need to call him that:) So I do.
Deep down, in that undeveloped man place you have, it bugs you to think I would p**s on your leg in public and laugh at you.
And I would, figuratively speaking. It would just take a few words and a look to solidify my position and your position on the field. No need to actually soil your pants. I would be bad for your ego if you had to deal with me on a regular basis. That is if you had the balls to say the shit to my face, the you type here.
Odds are you wouldn't, you would decide it might be safer to keep your cunty opinions to yourself around me.
Thats the way c***s are.
