One realpoor poster says: "Privacy is only needed for those people who have something to hide."
It sounds redundant, but what he means (and what he said in other posts) is privacy is only of worth to criminals. Only.
Think people who discover your email address and sell it. It obviously has worth, because the buying and selling of email addresses is a very real and very profitable business.
Your privacy has been violated. You no longer have privacy in this area. You're going to get progressively more and more spam.
You were obviously "trying to hide" something. Are you now a criminal?

Some people like privacy because they don't want every kid and their 6 yr old son/daughter to know that they like whacking it 50 times a day to gay midget scat porn bloopers.
Then theres the people like me who face their other computer (coincidently the way my windows and door in my living room face) and whack it to l*****n porn 10 times a day while adults and the occasional little kid walk by.

people can change thier emails after they register, to a non existing one.
The only privacy I ever really give people around here is thier ip address, and that's because I rather enjoy some of the anon poster alter ego's =p

You have total privacy untill you break the law. You might be monitored but MOST of the time it's just for internal purposes and it dosen't really make it out into public. That is untill you break the law of course.

I am about as far from a good boy as you can get without having killed anyone. What I am saying is that you can do whatever you want but the only way it's getting out is if someone catches you doing it or you go around telling everyone. Total privacy is a myth but don't go around saying your privacy is being violated when you have a website up describing your fetishes . That is your choice to put that out there.

I'll give any of my 3 email addresses to anybody. Work has a great spam filter and the delete key is awesome. The other two i check about 2-3 times a week and again, delete is a great key.

Actually if you were following this thread in the Political section there, Zab there lives on a base, his wife knows how to use a 45 and base security patrols once every 30 minutes........

Anyone who blanketly says only people with something to hide needs privacy is a f*****g idiot.
Privacy is something you can't treat seiriously enough IMO. Being a conservative (politically) its one of the few things I disagree with 'my party' on. The patriot act scares the hell out of me. I understand the intention is good, but in today's day & age you can't go by what you think someone's intention is.

Can call anytime you want. My wife's phone is on vibrate at nite and she dont hear shit. my phone is always on due to being on call 24/7. i dont get very many phone calls from folks other than family so call away. i have a shitload of minutes!

I have to believe that the intention of the patriot act is not good, otherwise you ultimately reach the conclussion that the people who made and passed it are just totally f*****g retarded if they could actually pass that with good intentions.
its the nature of government to act more and more exclusively for the benefit of the ruling class as time passes, this is what we are seeing with things like tha patriot act.
