Its not until I began to learn spanish, that I started to understand the reasoning for why English is formatted how it is, or why other langauges say certain phrases in the manner in which they do say them.
It really is fascinating when I sit back and think about it it. Just a few moments ago I realized how odd it was that we call glasses 'glasses' where as in spanish, one term is 'anteojos' which is a combination of 'ante' meaning before, and 'ojos' meaning eyes.

yeah i know what you mean. i just got back from france, where i was studying french and french culture.
it's amazing how my knowledge of other languages has improved by learning french.
my spanish comprehension has gotten 5x better since i started taking french.
it's crazy

I've been living in the Philippines for the last 2 years... I still don't speak the language and I still don't plan to.
I started learning the language until I got fed up with the people ripping me off all the time because I'm white. I figured s***w it and forced all my employees to speak English when they're around me.
