I am considering buying a laptop mainly for gaming in the very near future. I am looking towards the Dell XPS, Alienware or Sager laptops. Anyone have experience with any of them? Also with Sager you have the option of Pentium 4 vs. AMD 64. Currently I am playing WoW beta with an AMD 2500 with a ti4600 GF4 and 1.5 gb of ram. I am thinking of buying the laptop with a P4 3.4 ghz or the AMD 64 3400, ATI 9700 with 256 mb ram and either a GB or 2 of ram, will I see a huge difference from my home system? I have not owned or gamed on a laptop before so really don't know what to expect.

Savings and retirement are not a problem. I have plenty of disposable income and want to be able to play games at work, just want to get the right toy.

At any rate, I'm thinking the Alienware may be worth it, but pricey.
I've got a Centrino 2GHz w/ a 128MB GeForce 5650 that's decent enough.
Runs Farcry at acceptable rates... But the vid card isn't the greatest.
Best to get the ATI 9800 or whatever its called that is the most recent laptop vid card w/ 256mb.

In June I bought a Dell XPS, 3.4ghz, 1gb ram , 80gb HDD, ATI radeon 9700. Best computer i've ever bought.
I did have a hard drive failure after a couple of days of owning it, and I had a replacement in my hands within 3 days of callin Dell. Thats the only issue I've had with it.

I remember Zoll saying he's a fireman or EMT.. sometimes they have a lot of free time when they are just waiting for someone to crash a car or set their kitchen on fire, etc.

Yep, firefighter paramedic. I am assigned to a slower station so have plenty of free time, typically in a 24 hour shift I do around 5 to 10 calls, each take about an hour, then there is about an hour or two of paperwork and work around the station that has to be done depending what day of the week it is.
