My parents just bought a laptop a few months ago its a
Gateway
3.0ghz
video card isnt the greatest
512mb
blah blah
anyway the computer itself is fast but when loading internet pages it's slow as all hell. I ran adaware, X-Cleaner, and Spybot but it is still slow. Plus when it loads up the page it has to load the whole page before it will show it, instead of showing it piece by piece. Any ideas on how to fix the issue? I have cable so its not the connection and other then reformating i have no idea what to do and I did try running it in safe mode and the internet was amazingly fast so what is causing the slowness?

Clear the cache, do a connection test at http://www.broadbandreports.com/stest or use Firefox and see if that helps
And reset the modem

Is it every page you go to? Some pages are just like that, opening everything at once and not piece by piece. You can try to uninstall and reinstall IE if you want, but I don't know if it'll fix the problem.
