Don't forget technology. Numbers is part of military strength, so how does that make the point mute?

You can argue back and forth which is better 'til you're blue in the face, the correct answer is there is no "best" military in the world, just different levels of training, recruitment, and/or preparedness. |
I almost stopped reading your post after the first sentence because you lost all credibility. We don't have the most, not even close. Even though you have proved you're an idiot I kept reading (yes it hurt).
Canada has the best trained pilots in the world. Cool I can go to all the training classes on any subject I want to, it won't make me an expert it'll just make me overly trained.
Until you are in dogfights or dropping bombs and running sortis you cant prove shit. You can have really cool air show tho, NEAT. America hasn't lost a plane in a dogfight since I believe Korea (it could be farther back, correct me if I'm wrong), and don't think countries haven't tried to fight for the sky. They do but it is futile.

China is larger based on population, not people enlisted in military service. The discussion was military power, not population.
As for numbers, I won't disagree. But, on a 1 to 1 level, our pilots are better trained, it's a fact. But, in a you versus us fight, we would lose due to the numbers game. Like I said, it's a trade off.

Since you want to relate shit back to EQ. Everyone starts out the same level on a new server. Canada isn't hard core. US is, we joined ED; you became a crafter.

Correct, we couldn't capture Canada, which was being defended by the British Military, the world power at the time. It's not like today's french-Canadians were defending it, b/c we all know how that would have ended.

.........doesn't China have a million man standing army??
No where did anyone here at any time mention a 1 on 1 fight. Thats not how militarys fight wars. Your point is mute.
edit: just found this on google
| Quote: | China is continuing the process of reducing the size of its army. The 500,000-man force reduction currently underway will streamline the force and facilitate funding to equip its "core" infantry, airborne, mechanized and aviation units with more advanced weapons. The army is supported by a large reserve-militia force numbering more than 1.5 million personnel and a one million man armed police force.

1776 We become a Country. We are getting shit settled, making a country takes work and time. Thats why people who say LOOK AT IRAQ ITS SO BAD THERE are idiots. Yet still in 1812 The country we beat is p****d at us but we still go after them, sure we dont win but neither do they. To prove our country was in strife and still managed to won britian lets look forward. 1860's we had an in house brawl to settle that shit. From then on its just domination, except where we made ethical choices not to blow azns off the map.

You have the best military, that's it (and even that is debateable). China could ruin your country in 20 minutes without ever launching a single nuke, or fire a single bullet.
Once BRIC or any other of the big global alliances start becoming established, the fact that you've p****d off a lot of other countries will flex their muscle. Karma always goes 360. |

As for the border guards, well, they abandoned their post, I'd probably write them up, and likely suspend them. They knew that this kind of situation could happen when they were on duty, no matter how unlikely, they needed to keep their heads about them and do their jobs. Yes, it turned into a debacle, and yes, the Washington state law enforcement handled it swiftly. It's over now, and the only shame involved is if nothing is learned from it. |

The Israeli airforce is the top notch airforce as far as skilled pilots goes. Who trained them????? The United States did.Who fueled their military/Air assets? The United States did.
and Zrazzt you have so many misconceptions about American history and the American military I wouldnt know where to begin.

Canadians follow the US lead to conservatism
| Quote: | TORONTO - President Bush telephoned Canada's Prime Minister-designate Stephen Harper on Wednesday to congratulate him on his victory in parliamentary elections as ties between the world's largest trading partners were expected to improve
The Conservative leader's win in Monday's vote ended nearly 13 years of Liberal Party rule that saw strained U.S.-Canadian relations as outgoing Prime Minister Paul Martin and his predecessor, Jean Chretien, opposed the war in Iraq and other Bush administration positions.
|
| Quote: | | Harper criticized his country for not joining the United States and Britain in the Iraq war and his ideology runs parallel to that of the Bush administration. But the 46-year-old economist failed to win a majority and will be constrained in his policies by the need for an alliance to push through legislation, which could limit his ability to move Canada to the right. |
So, where will the poor liberals run to now? I guess they could all go to France where they can also b***h about independant charaties serving Pork Soup
It's about time our territory in the north gets itself together and follow's their masters lead.

Kbarr,
You calling me an idiot, does not make it so.
I know for a fact that I'm smarter than you, I'm more than likely more attractive than you, and frankly, you're primitive views about the world outside your bubble are limited, and quite hilarious. It's unfortunate that you didn't die in a parachuting accident so your glory days would be remembered in song in that garbage military of yours. It amuses me that you pride yourself on such a trivial accomplishment.
Yellow Jacket,
I don't care about the US military, nor any military. Wow, it takes a lot of skill to fire a gun, or to run around killing people. Hoorah. See, I can be a marine as well.

Maharat,
The conservatives won a narrow victory, and are a minority government, meaning that they will have a tight leash.
Religion will still be outlawed from school (most Canadians are non-religious... rightfully so, religion is the refuge of the feeble minded)
We won't go to war, since that would spell the end of the conservative reign instantly.
Gay Marriage will still be legal, or again their reign would end.
So what are the conservatives going to do differently in the next 4 years to keep in government? Anything society says, and since we're a liberal society, they aren't going to go all "bush" on us... or they'll be out in 6 months.
