Couple basic questions:
Can you buy a light source anywhere, or is it just dark as hell at night? The guy who sells "sundries" seemed like the best bet, but there wasn't anything that looked like a torch.
How do you talk in group? I clicked the "party" tab at the bottom of my chat window, but that made it so I couldn't see anything I typed, and nobody answered any of my "can anyone see what I'm typing?" questions  I did see (in green) what looked like a few messages from other people in the group, and I got PMs from people asking if I could see what they were typing. Can you not see your own group messages or something? What are the little arrows next to the different chat tabs (party, clan, shout, etc) for? Decoration, or do they do something?
Is there any way to /assist? Or /follow, or even find people in your group if you get lost? Is there a distance away from the group where you don't get exp or loot?
Should I sell things like gems and crystals (most sell to the vendor for 50,000 to 150,000) or hold on to them for something?
Is it better to go for fire, cold, or electric damage?

ahh, i guess it was bugged. Group chat worked fine when I tried it today.
still lots of bugged mobs that you can't attack.
Do things like +fire damage on staffs mean you do fire damage when you hit with the staff, or holding the staff lets your fire spells do more damage?

1) No
2) Umm... it works for me...
3) No. But pressing z targets the nearest mob to you so....
4) I sell everything that I can't wear. Anything I can't sell gets destroyed.
5) Fire is sheer damage output, cold gives low damage but slows mobs movement, lightning strips buffs and does medium damage.
(I went fire prime and ice secondary, electric seems worthless with the exception of possibly pvp)

Yeah chat seems fine now.
I gather that the gems, at least some of them, are used for some high level quest that each char does to get his best spell or something, and you need 30 of them, so you can either save them, or buy them from low level players at the end. I guess I should figure which ones it needs.
It looks like +fire damage, for instance, on a staff adds to your damage when casting fire spells. I have a staff that's "+3 MP DAMAGE", no idea wtf that means. Sometimes MP means mana pool, sometimes magic power; in that context I have no clue.
I decided to go with an ice mage, because I thought slowing might make it easier to solo. It's so laggy I can't tell if it's slowing the mob's run speed or attack speed; there's almost no correlation between where I see the mob and when I get hit so it's hard to say. The hits come in random bursts, and if it's not hitting me I don't know if it's not there yet, or if it's just hitting slowly.
I swear it ripped me off and didn't give me any stat points when I dinged 15. Either that or stat points and skill points are the same; I dinged, raised my skills, memmed a new spell, then went to raise my stats and had 0 stat points. Maybe raising skill made the stat pts go away or something.
Mana is funny. At 15 (I know that's like level 5 in eq) I can kill most stuff (bulky wtf they're called mostly) in 3 nukes, bang bang bang, as fast as I can cast, and my mana bar never drops; it's always full again by the time I loot. I suppose it slows down.

This game is cool, fast, and has pretty decent content, item/mob/skill/class wise, but I don't know. It is fun though heh.
Me and my bro, I made a mage, he made a rouge. Got from 1-20 in like an hour. If you group, its so easy. We have been recently hunting the robot dog things and dire wolfs in that one town. I can't remember the names of anything.

Just tried to get in now, but it seems like it's down.
I learned something yesterday - the offense rating on staffs adds to the damage you do when you cast while holding them, as well as the damage you do when hitting with them. Go figure.

Really? Shit thats awesome.
Another factor in this game that I have found I do not like is the ammount of children. There has to be at least 50% >13 year olds. None of them speak with even close to decent grammar, which adds into the KSing factor of the game.
It is fun while it will be in beta, no way in f*****g hell will I P2P it though.

I'm 20 too, although I've never been out of the newbie zone yet, just killing werewolves so far. Think it's time though. Probably won't come up tonight unfortunately, anyway I have to watch Sopranos.

Ill show you some uber hunting spots. What class are you? Magician I am guessing. If you are fire you can level extremly fast. There are camps that have like no one at them of werewolfs, Dire wolfs, Lycamps(I think is what they are called), skeletons, zombies, some huge star wars type elephant things, and some robot dog things. All from like 15-30 I am guessing.

my orc warrior guy is lvl 20, but im working up a orc archer now since i got a nice bow +5 rapt bow 40dmg +40 gla DMG .... However I havent been able to get in all day either ... oh yah my rogues name is "Vincent Volaju" and my warriors name is " Xvow " .... I tried messaging u a few times grunting cod wouldnt let me, dunno if that means u werent online or what...What times do u usally play ?

Ill be on in a bit, a half an hour or an hour from now. 8:15pm PST.
My name is GruntingCod with no space. I play usualy all times of the day, lately all day long sence PvP DAoC is getting boring becasue my gear is lacking becasue ToA sucks SO MUCH ASS HOLE. No f*****g undead mobs to kill with my necro so I have to resort to farming and buying scrolls which is a b***h. Not that you probably know what that is, but others do 8o)
But yeah, my brother has a 20 orc rogue, along with me 21 mage now. I went on an hour ago and leveled really fast.
Minion, I have a question for you. I noticed at 19? I think, I could only train up to my level, so I have extra points left over. Is that why you went a 2ndary skill? If so, what should I do? I am guessing Glaicer becasue of the slow.

starting to suck as a priest now, got some groups in my mid teens w/ like lvl 30s and was getting mad exp but now that im 21 i cant get groups for shit.
so close to 240 pt heal then i can keep pretty much anyone alive in pve content.

Group up with me and my bro, we are both 21. Fire mage and Archer rogue.
We kill shit fast as hell, he tanks while I stand there and blow shit away.
We are killing "goblins" although they arn't and the people in charge of quests are idiots for this game. They called called KOBOLDS in call caps for some reason, as well as BUGBEARS! ONG!
But they are easy, at least kobolds are for us, bugbears are harder apparently. 1k+ money drops per kill, so like 500-600 divided in half, and the goblin armor peices as well as good jewlery.

I should be on tonight too; I'd like to try goblins. I have 20 ice mage. Why is it nobody talks in group chat in this game? I've seen like 2 people that even know how to use group chat. Mostly I'm in these huge anonymous groups where someone invites me out of nowhere, and we kill stuff for awhile without anybody ever saying a single word. Maybe everyone speaks other languages or something.
I've been soloing orc watchers lately. They're not hard if I keep them at a distance, but they can kill me in 2-3 hits if they get close. Thank god one of those ice spells (chill) really does seem to do a snare, although I'm not sure why they all don't since they all claim to "slow". I did the wolfman fang/bulture horn/orc talisman quest btw and got a regular (non-cursed) upgrade scroll btw, which was nice. Anyone else do it - is it always the same reward or random?

Yah we all gotta pick a time/server to get on and lvl, i got my ranger to 20 last night but got no idea where to fight, and im tired of these damn Lycans and Werewolfs...Im usually playing on Serv 1 since thats where GruntingCod said he plays but still havent seen him yet either =/ Ima get on now if anyone is on now msg me on VincentVolaju
