I'm not a hockey fan, but we really need some f*****g people who play the sport for fun and pay, not for pay exclusively.

you could recruit normal people, like carpenters, truck drivers, people who work with their hands and shit, normal blue collar workers. Then you could make a reality show out of filling all the teams with normal people, and holding a normal season with them.

You'd have normal guys being huge stars and shit, hockey in general would become more popular.

Sum1 pay me for my idea and shit

I'll miss it. I love hockey. This will definately put a dent in future revenue in the US with hockey. Every time the sport starts to do better they have another lockout which drives fans away when the sport resumes. Sad

Learn the lesson NHL/NHLPA!!!!

I coach hockey and im p****d as hell, I know i coach roller hockey but its a shame to see a sport that my players and I enjoy day in and day out that is struggling to survive and is getting less recognized as a professional sport. It just p****s me off!

I'm pretty glad hockey's canceled. The playoffs always pre-empted Sportscenter, guess that won't be a problem now. Cool

Glad to see that one flew over your head. Too bad hockey didn't have the advertising contracts the MLB and NFL have. I mean look at the piece of a shit product the MLB puts out and still attracts people like Barnacle.

I seriously can't watch professional sports (any form). I used to be able too when I was younger, up until about the Baseball strikes and it dawned on me the only thing professional sports players care about is $$.

Why can't they just go "Hey, I get to get up everyday and make a living at something I enjoy, so instead of throwing a b***h-fit because I didn't make 40 million this year, I'll just take the 38 they offered me and have a good time playing!"

Don't get me wrong, I love sports. I played football, soccer and water polo in high school, but how can anyone in their right mind give those tools more attention after all the shit they pull? I just don't get it.

You obviously don't understand why this happened.

NHL wants a salary roof and NHLPA dont want one cause they dont want NHL to become NBA where you have three person taking 95% of what the club are allowed to pay, and then the rest of the player gets 5% to share. And I understand this.

Also if this comes true, you will definately see dream salaries.

Anyway I think this is really good in shortterm. We will get some awesome teams in Sweden this season. Just look at a team called Modo....Peter Forsberg, Markus Näslund, the Sedin brothers, Salo, Bryan Muir probably alot of other US and canadian players that will knock on the door to get their only chance to play with Forsberg and Näslund.

In the longrun this will be bad for swedish hockey, cause the younger players will not get the chance when those superstars gets home...

Anyways, I will definately enjoy hockey this season =)
