So far, the story is interesting.
But, I dont like the game itself as much as the first.
It seems too linnear. Not enough freedom to check out other areas in a land until the story wants you to.
And seems like nothing is hidden. You find everything there is as you go.
Questions though. To anyone that has finished it (american or japan).
What is the differences in the ending when doing the different difficulties?
Like the original, you got different ending screens, and the bonus teaser when you collected everything and closed all worlds.
I'm doing it on Proud mode (hardest) , and wanted to know what the easier endings were going to be in comparison.
Is there any bonus for not choosing "continue" when you lose?
Or in a major battle, when you choose "I wont give up" for falling, and Mickey helps you out, does it make a difference if you reset it and do it again instead of letting him help (since you did die after all).
I just know there will be a statistic screen like in the first one that labels how often you died, how much you killed, etc...
Just want to know if any of it will affect anything I might miss.
And lastly, Sora's memory restoration scenes, included clips from the updated KH released only in japan (forget name, like master edition, or something). Is there an english version floating around anyone knows of? or will be?

The flash back stuff? And the girl in the white room are from a Gameboy game called Chain of Memories, the other 5 unknowns are in that game and you beat them in that
I beat the game two days ago, and I got the speical ending, I had to get everything 100% to get the 100% full ending, cause if you don't they'll cut the ending off before you can see whats all in it, hands down this is the best game I've ever played, the ending was amazing too

Hey, Mister Grumbles!
Take a look!
Most of them are incomplete. Or they're done in such a poor format that those questions wouldn't even be answered. Check the forums? No thanks, I'd rather ask RP (in the proper forum) than ever, ever look through GameFAQs boards.
So, now, on to Okami:
On Proud mode you simply have to complete every world to get the "good" ending. I don't think you need to complete every Gummi stage, but I could be wrong there. On normal mode, you have to do that and fill all of Jiminy's journal--kind of a b***h, since that includes each and every mini-game and a specific minimum score you have to get on each of them.
And, really, don't worry about the story. The game will spell it out for you, completely spell it out. If you miss anything--anything at all--you can always check Jiminy's journal for a comprehensive outline of characters and past events.

I understand the chain of memories part. I did play that one.
But
there was another kingdom hearts, updated, that they released in japan, and they showed scenes from it in one of the flashbacks.
They basically added a fight with one of the organization members, and a scene with Diz.

Why can't people just f****n make the good ending the regular ending? I don't want to play through a whole plot just to reach a s****y ending that doesn't even really conclude the game (anyone ever play Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow or w/e it was? The first ending was retardedly disappointing). I understand that they do it to increase the replay value of the game, and to create incentive to explore the full extent of the game's content, but I don't want to devote hour upon hour of getting unnecessary extras just to watch the "good" end scenes.
Despite this rant of blasphemy, kudos to Square and Disney.

I don't get this argument at all. If you don't like the game you shouldn't care what ending you get, hell you shouldnt even get an ending because you wont finish the game. If you do enjoy the game they give you another bonus for completing it all.

not like it was hard to get the best ending in this and the best ending in the last one. Hell I think I might have died a total of maybe 10 times the whole time on proud mode. And I would say 6 of those 10 were from the last fight where that f*g takes most of my life in one attack since I had no defense.
FFX-2 was a lot lamer then kingdom hearts in terms of getting the best ending. For FFX-2 I had to beat the whole game again to get the best ending since I didnt use a strategy guide my first time through. For both kingdom hearts I could use my org game to get the best ending.
SOMEWHAT SPOILER
Is the video where they get the letter from Mickey in the bottle the last video, besides the ones that looks badass w/those guys in the armor? It just ends and I was like wtf gaytown I wanted to see some badass fighting or something. The video w/ the 3 people in the armor got me all excited but they just looked badass they didnt do anything badass.

You misunderstand. I DO enjoy this game. And this argument wasn't specifically pointed at Kingdom Hearts, it was only spurred by the idea represented in this post. I don't really mind getting all of the extras in a game like Kingdom Hearts. Other games are more bothersome in this aspect though. In some games (RPGs obviously) you may not be ecstatic about the gameplay (and/or some people may just suck at it) but you really enjoy the plot. You get to the end of the game. Now you want to see the INTENDED ending, the good ending. But no, first you have to spend like 5 hours killing the same random monsters, doing puzzles or monotonous minigames, or whatever the game requires of you, just to rightfully finish the plot.

so,
Just doing it on proud mode will give a complete ending?
I don't have to do all the jiminy challenges, and gummi missions?
(I'm going to anyhow, just wondering if I need to do them before I finish)
And I guess no one knows of an english conversion of the master edition?

Interesting.
So it looks like they have 2 legends. That of Sora and that of Ansem/Xehanort. And they want to follow the chaos and destruction path.
Based on the graphics, I assume it's going to be PS3.

if i recall correctly, on proud, you have to complete all the worlds, if that means get the little mickey mouse icon next to it, or just close both the seals im not sure. I played in on proud and got a mickey mouse seal next to all the worlds (which means i did the jimminy journal requirement thing) and I got the secret ending. I didn't get a mickey mouse seal on the jimminy journal itself (because I did get all the syth stuff), but still got the secret ending.
*spoiler*
From what I have read, the director himself said those 3 people in the secret ending are infact in the past, and that the next KH game will not deal with the characters we know, sora, rikku, kairi, mickey, but be on off shoot of it. there is also debate as to whether all those swords surrounding them at the end are keyblades or just swords. Some people say they are keyblade, others say they aren't because they don't have keychains attached to them, who know. But the blades picked up by the 3 sick looking armor clad badasses are for sure keyblades

No one has made a mention of whether it was in the past or the future, at all. It's seems fairly obvious that it must be in the future. Unless Ansem went back in time to the past to re-write the Ansem reports!

Did that scene happen in the future or in the past?
I would at least say it's an episode in the past, but.... Hmm, how should I say this? It's in the past but you can also think it's in the future, something like that.
P.S. Why did they even have Maleficient be in Kh2? She added nothing to the story or any other aspect, a very dead aspect of the game.

My son just beat it on easy mode.(6 yrs old)
Beginner mode
jiminy journal 89%
gummi routes 26%
healed party 41 times
saved by micky 0 times
most used form Valor 15 times
used anti form 0 times
most used summon Chicken Little 2 times
So, out of all those, only jiminy and gummi would have mattered?
Without doing mine yet, I can't compare his ending to mine. It showed the letter at the end, and no secret movie.
The end screen i s a pic of sora standing by himself facing away.

I liked the song Simple and Clean (ending version) from the first one better than the end song on this one.

no edit option in this forum?
Was trying to add that is specifically lists "saved by micky" , not that's going to bug me, since I used him a couple times now.
Anyone find out yet if it does affect anything? end screen or whatever.

If you're saved by micky at all, then you don't get to see the hot ending scene with Sora and Goofy making out.

so...
I saved right before the final door, and was doing all the other stuff (tournament, paradox tournaments, moogle, gummi missions, and leveling to fight sephiroth.
My son, started over again, on normal mode this time.
I came back from one of my weekly out of town trips, and found out he accidently saved over my save slot.
Time to start all over again...
