I heard this on CNN some leftwing nutjob wants to get rid of CIA and Kerry Supports this.
Now i know CIA needs some reform and is being worked on now since its task is new and different than it used to be during the cold war, but shutting it down WTF?
Whats next shut down the Military?
Stuff like this scares me somthing awful about Kerry being Elected. I mean how are we gonna fight Terrorism without intel?
We need the CIA more than ever now and Kerry wants to destroy it?
P.S. hope someone can find a link to this.

It was actually a Republican (I forget which) that proposed it. He wants an entirely new intelligence agency under a single head. So basically it would roll together the CIA, NSA and DOD intelligence operations. I think Kerry would probably want to dismantle the CIA and not replace it (at least he advocated this for years).

And its a right wing nutjub, dumb ass.
| Quote: | Democrats and intelligence officials criticize Sen. Pat Roberts' proposal to radically reorganize U.S. intelligence efforts, a plan that would break up the CIA and move intelligence groups out of the Pentagon. Roberts, who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, announced his plan Sunday. NPR's Mary Louise Kelly reports.

You've got a computer. Take a look at his voting record. Every single one of his votes on intelligence and the military for the past 20 years were in favor of cuts. He's not the second most liberal senator for nothing.

In other words, you won't provide any evidence. Let's look at what Kerry said to a combative Congress:
| Quote: |
Congress has let me cancel a few programs. But you've squabbled and sometimes bickered and horse-traded and ended up forcing me to spend money on weapons that don't fill a vital need in these times of tight budgets and new requirements. … You've directed me to buy more M-1s, F-14s, and F-16s—all great systems … but we have enough of them.
|
Oh wait, that wasn't John Kerry, that was d**k Cheney.
| Quote: |
At the same time, in 1991, Kerry opposed an amendment to impose an arbitrary 2 percent cut in the military budget. In 1992, he opposed an amendment to cut Pentagon intelligence programs by $1 billion. In 1994, he voted against a motion to cut $30.5 billion from the defense budget over the next five years and to redistribute the money to programs for education and the disabled. That same year, he opposed an amendment to postpone construction of a new aircraft carrier. In 1996, he opposed a motion to cut six F-18 jet fighters from the budget. In 1999, he voted against a motion to terminate the Trident II missile. (Interestingly, the F-18 and Trident II are among the weapons systems that the RNC claims Kerry opposed.) |

You must've pasted in the wrong link. That page couldn't possibly provide evidence of his reasons for votes he made in the 1990s since it only shows votes for 2003-4 and is simply a record of his votes, not his reasons for his votes.

That was never the goal or suggestion. Words mean something. |
An exceptionally beautiful young woman, Enyadatta, enjoyed nothing quite as much as gazing at herself in the mirror. She was a little crazy, as all human beings are. When she looked into her mirror one morning, the figure in the glass had no head. Enyadatta became hysterical and rushed around yelling 'My head is gone, where is my head? Who has my head? I shall die if I don't find it!' Even though everyone assured Enyadatta that her head was on her shoulders, she refused to believe them. Every time she looked in the mirror, her head wasn't there, so she continued her frenzied search, shouting and crying for help. Fearing for her sanity, Enyadatta's friends and relatives dragged her home and tied her to a pillar so she wouldn't hurt herself. Enyadatta's friends continued to reassure that her head was still on her shoulders and slowly she began to wonder whether they might not be telling the truth. Suddenly one of her friends gave her a sharp clout on the head. She cried out in pain, and her friend exclaimed 'That's your head! There it is!' Enyadatta immediately realized that she had somehow deluded herself into thinking she had no head, when, in fact, she always had it.

He wants an entirely new intelligence agency under a single head. So basically it would roll together the CIA, NSA and DOD intelligence operations. I think Kerry would probably want to dismantle the CIA and not replace it (at least he advocated this for years). |
Evidence please. |
of what? |
Of Kerry advocating dismantling the CIA without replacing it. |
|

(Interestingly, the F-18 and Trident II are among the weapons systems that the RNC claims Kerry opposed.) |

d*****s. He opposed those because the cuts weren't large enough. |
Please provide evidence to back up this statement. |
I've been too busy to be your librarian today. I am always right and you seem to always be wrong. We'll let our records stand. But since you insist, here's my proof:

Shut the f**k up.
