Cod, people don't hate you. Saying "rap sucks" and quoting everyone is a pretty pathetic cry for attention.

ICP has VERY FEW good songs. As a whole they are gayer than richard simmons throwing a baby shower.

I'm just waiting for the flaming m***********s who say rap isn't music to admit they listen to trance/house shit. I will agree it may not be music, it's poetry. I'm not talkin about this bling bling cash money b******t, thats complete crap. Less then 10 percent, and probably even less then 5 percent of rap is worth listening too, but it really is good shit if u can find it. Also great artists to check out are The Roots, Jurassic 5, J-live(them that's not is a f****n killer song).

I listen to a shitload of rock and punk and i consider those two, as well as certain rap to be great music. From my list earlier i can't believe i left out Juicy though, that's easily one of the greatest songs of all time. I can't even begin to think of ICP as good artists, for some reason my first thought of them always brings me back to an Eminem CD i have that contains a skit of eminem having the two of them suck him off, disturbing as all hell.

THe Roots, Black eyed peas, j5, tribe, etc are more hip hop than rap. Those groups are all actually pretty good and i enjoy listening to them. musically they are a huge step of any "rapper" out there.

some other similar groups:

herbalizer
citizen cope
goodie mob

GC- You have to start somewhere.

Tupac is the best rapper in history. I cant stand anything by BIG and 50 cent is one of the few rappers i like today. Got to see him saturday and he was great. Relating him to tupac like BET and MTV have been doing in my opinion is stupid.

Why do people post 5-30+ songs when the question is all time favorite?
Wow you listen to a lot of a certain genre of music, I really doubt anyone gives a shit. I know I REALLY don't. In fact I hate your posts becuase instead of trying to find some REALLY good stuff to listen too it's all garbage.

I can respect people that actually have some basis and reason for liking something as painful for me to listen to as rap. If you are saying rap is cool cuz i really like the way the lyrics interact with the rhythm and the baseline really brings out the angst....cool whatever bling bling pinkyring.

If you are a rap fan just because you think it's cool to dress like a f*****g moron, you are gonna look back on these times when you get older and want to shoot yourself. Just look at the leather jumpsuit, parachute pants, and break dancing days. Yipes. Also, if you happen to be a rap fan for no real good reason at all, explore other types of music.

Start slow, don't try and jump into Bluegrass. You'll shoot yourself in the head. I personally like all forms of music, EXCEPT RAP, which i don't consider music. I don't really like R&B, but that's cuz I can't stand girly i wanna make love all night songs, not because I think they don't qualify as music. Listen to some "I'm White and p****d Cuz I can't Be a Rapper" Music, like Linkin Park, Saliva, etc... then move to easier stuff. f**k, maybe you'll end up listening to The Kentucky Colonels, Mack Wiseman and the Bluegrass Revival, Robert Earl Keen, Roy Acuff or Charlie Pride.

Listen to classical. You actually have to LISTEN to the music. Listen to how the violins and other strings section tend to set the mood of the music. How the bass and cello and other lower key instruments set the mood in a different way. How they interact with each other. Download Bolero, by Ravel. or the piece in the middle of the movie Hannibal at the play with Allegra Pazzi and the Commendatore and Hannibal. Just absolutely beautiful music. It doesn't make me an "omg you gay homophag" loser because I like something that the rest of popular people and society doesn't.

Yes, I listened to rap. I went through that phase. MC Hammer, Easy E, 2 Live Crew, Run DMC. I got over it though.
