Sooooo good. Definately recemend picking this one up. I can not wait to read the 6th one. Who else here is into this series? If you have read the series + all of the books connected to it what order would you recemend reading the connected ones in? ATM I'm thinking that I will start with Salems Lot and then go to The Stand then Hearts in Atlantis.

Steven King?

Ya, they suck then.

I don't like him, I don't like Anne Rice, I don't like Dean Koontz, I don't like Richard Layman (Island was semi ok though)

I don't like their type of writing.

Everyone is intitled to their own opinion. You like what you like, and I'll like what I like.

You like it, so good for you too.

Considering you instantly associate Stephen King with horror novels, you've probably never read more then one of his books.

Generally I have found Steven King to just be alright, however this series is f*****g amazing. By far the best thing I have ever read. Ending in the 5th one left me with a major case of WTF....

I read the first three and liked them a lot. But then it was so many years before the next one came out that I lost interest, and didn't want to have to reread them to catch up again.

He wrote the Green Mile too. If you only associate Steven King with horror novels, you're very ignorant. This massive series is not a horror genre. It spans so many different ones from western, sci-fi, horror, drama, romance to name a few. It touches on everything, and also is connected in various ways to his previous novels. Many of them tie in, in one way or another. Picture this as an epic book. If you liked long quest things like LoTR you'll enjoy the Dark Tower serious just as much, if not more.
