Everyone here seems to think themselves an expert of some sort, guns, political philosophy, p***y wrangling, flatulence.
What is your particular area/s of expertise.

telephony and motorcycles are my only true expertise. but i enjoy everything else from computers to surfing.
i dont really see anyone here as an expert, just mostly opinionated people who read a lot.

well ive never claimed to be an expert of any sort on here that i can recall.
but in the spirit of realpoor if i had to pick an area for myself id say that my area of expertise is being insignificant and only knowledgable of things pertaining to me or other inconsequential tidbits that noone else is interested in hearing/reading/knowing about.

I'm an expert in making lame jokes - Just ask anyone who talks to me.
haha. Seriously, good topic:
I don't consider myself an expert on anything, yet. Simply because I don't think I have lived long enough to acquire that much information hehe.
But I do have areas in which I think I know a great deal more than the average person. I wouldn't call it expertise, but interests.
* History - Have a mastersdegree in contemporary history, with focus on Northern Ireland and more specifically on Gerry Adams (leader of Sinn Fein - the political wing of the IRA) and the peace process of the 90s. I also studied Israel, although not extensively. So I have somewhat of an interest in terrorism, as you've probably noticed in threads about it hehe.
Other subjects that interest me and I have taken classes in are imperialism, the cold war, American history (with focus on so-called secret societies like Ku Klux Klan and populist history), some English history (a.o. Edmund Burke), Dutch history, and some world literature classes. I would call myself educated on them, not an expert.
* Writing - I think I have a reasonable amount of knowledge about writing: genres, linguistic, code of behaviour and professional experience with the writing media in different forms.
* Star Trek - I'm so the expert on star trek. I've seen everything!

Don't worry about it; a diet and some exercise should get rid of that whole well-rounded thing

If you're an expert then...
What did Kirk think his name was when he fell on his head on that planet with the aliens who happened to be Native Americans?
What was Seven of Nine's human name, and her full Borg name?
What was the evolution of Sisko's facial/scalp hair combination from the pilot of DS9 through its finale?
What was Jean-Luc Picard's nephew's name?
What was Picard's hometown in France?
What was Gene Roddenberry's middle name?
Ensign Robin Lefler was played by: _____
The species of alien that stabbed Picard in the heart was _________
Don't look any of it up!

I could never be an expert in anything. I do have a knowledge in networking, telephony, unix and general computer stuff and I'm teaching myself to work on cars ... but the best teacher (expert) knows he never knows everything even if it is his given subject of "expertise"...

This is the only one I remember off the top of my head,
Annika Hansen and Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero.
I think. But I didn't look it up!

Seriously though.
My boss just asked me if I knew how to make pickled zuchini, and well of course I don't, so I google for "How to make pickled zucchini" and I found out how. Yay, huh???
Umm yah, google is cool.
