Well, the day is finally upon me. I am no longer going to be a bachelor, as of Saturday. My **** life will be for sale on ebay, if anyone wants to consider investing in it, as I will no longer be able to have use for it.
How much have we spent on this wedding you ask? Rings, trip, photography, flowers, cakes, dress, tuxes, bm dresses, miscellaneous crap included, around $20,000. Before you have a heart attack, thats with a $3000 engagement ring, a $4000 dollar Honeymoon cruise, and a pair of $500 wedding bands.

Weddings cost a lot more than that, if you want to have anything halfway decent.

If/when I get married (I think I'm smarter than that!  ), I'm going small. Truth be told, I don't enjoy going to 300 person weddings and I won't subject anybody else to that.
However, the bachelor party might run 20k...

Does anybody know where the 2 months salary tradition comes from? I mean that just seems excessive to me. I figure a diamond reseller came up with it. You go to diamond.com or something and it has a price calculator for you. It says enter your monthly pre-tax wage and it multiplies it by two. I mean, come on! Do women really expect this? And why the hell is it pre-tax?

passed on the TV in Montreal , a couples spent like 8k on their wedding and it was rummored to be 1 of the nicest that experts have seen.
A wedding is all about being engaged NOT to put yourself i na bad financial situation.
Was too stupid to hear people say that they owe money cause of their wedding.
Also 3k for a ring is very nice, in fact more then that is just to show off.
Gratz Sab and dont worryabout those saying that its cheap, in fact very expensive weeding are often the ones that end up in a divorse.
If you have money left, bring her on a trip, or whatever decorate your home..no need to empty your pocket for a wedding.

b******t made by gems vendors just to s***w up people.
I remember whe I bought an engagement ring for my gf...i asked her to chose a couples of her own tastes, had one of 800$, 600$ and yes 249$ she wanted the 249$ one cause she was crazy about it.
She didnt wanted it to show off or flash, she wanted the one that she liked the most, and when the gem vendor asked her if she wanted a stone of better quality she said no way.
Nothing more stupid the to see a woman brag about having a perfect diamond.
Who the f**k care if there are some small black spot i nit that can only be seen by experts?

goign on ten years together no ring on my finger and i am perfectly content with this, i dont even wear jewelery
i rather see that kind of money go to somehting useful like a house or an education, but hey im a weird one /shrug

No difference to be married or not...when an half of the couples decide that he or she got enough...she or he is gone.
Also the fact to be married today doesnt make the other person yours at all, and it sure as hel ldoesnt make you love her/him more.
So whats the point?

Most of the wedding i've been to cost between 15k and 50k, mostly depending on the number of guests and the venue.
