Medical study subjects often get paid nice money...but you are usually a guinea pig in a controlled experiment to test out some new drug or treatment.
Sort of related--I remember a few years back, it was said that women were paying 100K for a good ovary from someone to be transplanted.../boggle

I did a shit like that in NYC once... it was pure BS. They had me go to certain stores and check prices on shit. To this day I don't understand why they couldn't just call or look them up on the net. They gave me like $50 per place I went to. I went crazy the first week, went to like 8 different stores ranging from Bed bath & beyond, barnes n' noble, to compusa... got a little less than $400 2 weeks later, and realized it was just annoying and s****y.

Well.
When they make you go to a very specific store location, and you always get stores that are ASS far away from each other, it just becomes tedious and costly. Not worth it. I got lucky too, not all of them pay $50, some are like $15-20. Also maybe cause at that time I was mostly doing production assistance, and being a PA > being a store running monkey.
Either that or I just like to complain?

I f*****g loved it. $150/day working on cool short flicks and shit like **** in the city. Sure the hours can be god awful long, and some days you do really boring shit... but I became key set PA pretty quick, and it was fun getting the other PA's to do lame shit while I sat around for hours drinking coffee and buying myself cd's and magazines with their cash. *shrug* I'd do it here if I could.
