I thought it was a joke. For those of you who can't read japanese, the article basically says women are incapable of operating devices with more buttons than just an on/off one. So they put together an all-female team called "Team 8" (I dunno why) to design female-friendly computer pieces.

Nice! Next maybe they'll make a TV/sound system that American women can operate. How many times have you heard "I can't get any sound on the TV agaaaiiiinnnnn!!!!".
I even tried making up flash cards with pictures of the receiver, the cable box, the VCR, the DVD, and the TV, the cables that connect them, and the relevant input controls, and sample configurations for various things you might want to do. Still no good. I simply change one or two little things, and next thing you know there's the wail from the family room "The TV won't worrrrrkkkkkk!".
BTW I'm not sure "Japs" is considered culturally correct

She could probably figure it out but would rather know you care enough to help her. At least that's my experience w/ women who pretend like they can't work simple devices. :p

Are you kidding? Japs is nothing these days. I used the term "Nips" in my essays on WWII back in high school and it sure got a rise out of our hippy teacher. Good times.

I was gonna degrade women in the post but then I realized the subject itself degrades them enough. So I settled for an uncouthe and crass nickname for the Japanese!

That printer looks remarkably like the mini HP photo printers i used to sell at best buy 2 years ago.
