huh your right QVC wont link it properly... ill just post the description then
"Take your home office to the next level with this desktop computer. High-tech features like a 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor E6550 and 2GB DDR2 SDRAM power you through work and entertainment applications at the speed of light.
An enormous 500GB hard drive allows you to amass a library of projects, music, movies, and photos. The 20X DVD+/-RW drive creates an easy transfer to disc, and a 15-in-1 card reader makes uploading effortless. Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100, a two-piece multimedia speaker set, and 19" diagonal LCD display create a top-notch media experience. From ZT Systems.
QVC neither condones nor encourages the use of this, or any similar technology, to acquire unauthorized recordings of copyrighted works; inclusive of, but not limited to, the download of prerecorded media via the Internet.
Access to and use of the Internet may require payment of a separate fee to an Internet Service Provider, DSL line, or more. The download speeds experienced with the modem may be slower due to varying line conditions.
Not all DVD-R/-RW and DVD+R/+RW discs are compatible with all DVD-R/-RW and DVD+R/+RW players. Contact the manufacturer for further information.

It depends on what you are paying for it.
It is a nice mid range system that will play most games at medium settings as long as you buy an additional decent graphics card.
As far as the processor goes it isn't one of the newest (or best) and for a little more cash you could probably get one that has a bit more beef.
I'd recommend asking for it to be bundled with XP rather than Vista due to the bug issues that Vista still has (and the fact that its a load of junk).
If you were thinking of overlocking then you would probably find that the processor has been locked (most companies do this when building package PCs (Dell etc)).
I recommend building it yourself, its fairly easy, cheaper and guarenteed to be upgradable. The only drawback is you are your own customer service line.
It all depends on what you want from your system (gaming, media (music movies etc), video editing/encoding, word processing, internet browsing etc.
If you need any help on choosing parts for a system just PM me, I've just finished my fifth PC and can give you some tips and advice.

According to IGN these are the recommended specs for playing the new Age of Conan:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (E6600) or better
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950GX2 or better
RAM: 2GB or more
My choice for your budget if you decide to build it yourself:
CPU | Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2 x 2.66Ghz 4Mb Cache 1333 FSB - £124.49
Motherboard | Asus P5K SE - £63.45
Graphics | BFG GeForce 9600GT @ 512MB - £117.49 or
BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB - £150
RAM | OCZ 2GB DDR2 - £23.99 (possibly two of these for 4gb ram)
HDD | Western Digital RE2 500GB - £67.99
PSU | OCZ 600W = £45
CD/DVD | Pick them up for about £10-£20
Monitor | 19" flat LCD = £79.99
About £550 in total.
This would play Age of Conan with no troubles and all of the newer games.
I looked at Dell but wasn't impressed and can't be bothered to go round other PC sites and find out prices as they all depress me with their bundles that say "GAMER" when it would struggle to run The Sims 2.

dont i need, like a bare bone system or something? A website with that can let me buy from the USA would be appreciated but ill look at tigerdirect.com and newegg.com as they are the only sites i know...
Edit okay i got all the parts and the total came to 985USD
But i dont know if they would all go together... i had to come up with some of my own and thats probably why i have doubt...

Post them and i'll tell you if they are compatible.
All you need to start building is a case, nothing fancy just a simple ATX case which you can put all your bits in.
Also i've never used newegg but it has been recommended to me. Try eBay, parts can be cheaper and ive used the UK site a fair amount.

Exellent choice!
They're compatible and cheaper than I made it! I need to start shopping on US sites more
If you are looking for help on putting it together then these are some useful videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1NxsHpaL_s - Simple, useful video but a bit vague in parts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFNqI2AKMwM - Homemade enthusiastic guy who gets a bit too excited about his motherboard but explains the steps a bit differently to the other video.
Good luck!

If you're worried about a payment plan and spending $1,000 you can easily get a solid gaming machine for under $600, but everything listed is pretty much perfect for gaming. It'll be a pretty bad ass rig

Personally I think it is A LOT cheaper to build it yourself, you could go through some company, qvc, alienware, or even (i hope not though) Dell. But honestly if your building a gaming rig, all the best stuff you are seriously going to save 500 to even 1000 dollars, just something to think about.

It will be a lot cheaper to build it yourself but dont do it unless you have a pretty good understanding of how to install components on computers.

I'm fortunate enough to only enjoy playing wow and nothing else, but one can generally put together an amazing machine for less than 600 bucks. You just have to put the time in.

Depending on the price thats a pretty decent rig but the graphics card needs a definite boost ans viata is a terrible OS.

With vista, you want 3-4GB ram. To run games, get a nice geforce 8800. 512MB graphic card, AMD processor, dont do intel.. Hm what else, don't buy alienware, you can build a computer for cheaper.
