Well I was browsing these forums notice that there are no ps2 topics in here does anyone ever play or own one anymore?

I got one, was playing it earlier infact. 17k XP till level 100 on Kingdom Hearts Smile, Donald is 98 and Goofy is already 100 (I know, the game is old-ish but I just started re-playing it like 2 days ago)

All are 100 now, beat Kurt Zisa, Ice Titan, and Phantom, currently working on getting all 99 dalmatians.

If the newer ps3's allowed backwards compatibility with ps2/1 games you might see the ps2 dying or be dead by now... not the case though, so no it's not dead and I don't see it dying for some time.

IMO the PS2 isn't dead. I still play mine at least 2-3 times a week, and they are still releasing PS2 games as well, albeit the games on PS2 are lacking compared to the newer systems. Biggest game that comes to my mind was Sonic Unleased, which was awesome on the Xbox-360, but pretty horrid on PS2 because they couldn't program everything into the PS2 version.

I prefer PC games more now. I use my PS2 mainly for a dvd player... that reminds me, I have to return my netflix of six feet under Shocked

As long as guitar hero keeps on making games on that older platform, I doubt it will ever be dead. Also GTA, MGS, and Final Fantasy series were probably the most popular.

I haven't touched a PS2 since I got my 360. It was great when it came out, but there just isn't a game id play on it beyond FF, and done that once, done it a thousand times.

It's not dead yet. I'm sure if you search a bit more, you'd find some topics dedicated to PS2 games.
Also, you'll free to open topic about anything you want, including PS2. Wink

I'm still playing with my ps2. Games like Street Fighter Alpha, DMC and GoW. It was and it still is a good console!

unfortunately i'd have to agree with the poster on top... I think i had more fun on my ps2 than i have on my ps3 =/
