I am playing Warhammer Online, and I hear many bad things about it. Do not tell me that the game is over hyped. I hear exactly that about WAR, and I will not believe all those rumors. I just love to play this game, and I enjoy it every day. Many gamers are right to say that this is the best game ever made. Why are there so many players who say that this is overrated game and do not like it? Can anybody tell me why?

Why do you believe all those rumors that can be heard on the internet? Warhammer Online is indeed the best game, and it would never be overrated. All those bad words are saying the gamers who do not play WAR, and they do not understand how the game is good. In addition, many of them were disappointed with something in the game, and they stopped to play it. Do not believe them. Just continue to play Warhammer Online and have fun while you do it. Do not listen to those bad, bad people.

I don't understand why people badmouth games they haven't played yet. People should judge a game only after playing it for awhile. I am hoping to get into the war beta, because I do think this game is gonna be great.

It's pretty fantastic if you've got the time to play it.

I haven't played it, but I'd have to guess their 25+ years of prewritten history & lore for the game (taken from the tabletop version) will give it a massive advantage, along with the pre-established fanbase acquired over the same time period.

Mythics previous experience with RvR in DAoC would also go a long way towards giving WAR a fighting chance. Too many games these days throw in PvP as an afterthought and end up with shithouse PvP because of it (prime example - WoW, early PvP was generally just a big moshpit with no objectives and no rewards, fun for a while, but not a good long term approach)

WAR is built around PvP/RvR, with the intention of using this mechanic as part of the game, rather then something people do between end game content/raids to kill time with no or very little purpose/rewards.

When they implimented it in DAoC, levelling up through killing other players was great fun, much more entertaining then grinding mobs. I'm fairly certain WAR intends to make this option available from launch, so it should appeal to both sides of the PvP fence. Those who hate it can stick to grinding mobs, those who love it can slaughter each other all day long and gain levels while doing so.

It has the potential to fail like any other MMO, but I highly doubt this one will go under, especially with the EA marketing department behind it.

Remember success comes from great marketing, not a great product (Beta vs VHS, Windows vs everything else, I'm sure there are plenty of other examples).

Overhyped doesn't necessarily mean over-rated. I think a lot of people are looking for an alternative to WoW and WAR seems to best fit the bill, that's no fault of the game or the developers though. Maybe it'll live up the hype and maybe it won't, pretty sure it's going to be a great game though.

IMO, Warharmmer's hype is worth it. It is easily going to be one of the best MMO's ever. I only wish that I could get into the beta >.<

The PvP in this game alone will be worth the hype. Seems so sweet, DAoC 2.

The thing about this

Alot of games these days are overhyped. And many people ditch it if doesn't live up to the hype while it still may be a solid game. Warhammer will be a solid game but dont overhype it or else you may get disapointed.

Hype can definitely be a major selling point for any game, it seems to me that the more hype a game receives the more likely it is to be a major seller, even if it isn't that great. I really don't think WAR is overly hyped, it is looked upon by a lot of people as more of a redeemer, to be the next game they move on to, since WoW has been the leader up front for so long, many are hoping that WAR is as good if not better so they don't feel 'let down' and they don't get the feeling that WoW brings to the table.

Thats just my point of view on the situation though.

Well it certainly is true that hype transfers to sales. But the thing with games is will it live up to the hype? I certainly hope it does the more MMO's that are good the better if you ask me
