I've been playing SWG, the original edition, only for a short time, maybe four or five months, I don't really know. It didn't really appeal to me, not even in that shape, so I left it before all the infamous updates that, according to popular opinion, messed everything up so bad. So, I'm only mildly interested in the fate of the game now, but I'm still wondering, is it capable of surviving, or is it dead and buried?

Depends on where you['re standing. In answer to your original question, my answer would have to be "both". It's too bad (for words), and it's really dead, too. Some people are playing it still, yes, but the fact is that it'll never have those numbers again, the ones it had before all the meddling and the rage and the harsh words.
