I've heard very mixed reviews.
Everyone wants an AoC key but everyone i've talked to says this game really isnt worth it.
Is this game fun? I need to know WHY its fun not just "yea, its fun"

the game is awesome imo . The fighting style is hella interactive .. the quests are well just liek any sprt of quest .. only down side is normally alot of running around. The pvp is pretty cool but i have yet to try the guild city pvp ... but welll see.

after playing for a few days, I have to say it is pretty damn fun. I haven't gotten a character above level 14 yet because I keep making new ones to try new classes. The combat is quite a bit more engaging than other mmo's because of the directional attacks and combos that require you hit multiple buttons in a certain order. The atmosphere is amazing and morbid. Lots of gore and blood, and of course large boobs. The fatality moves are hilarious and awesome and blood splatters on your screen. Leveling seems fairly quick, and the quests are much more exciting than the ones in WoW.

Got a level 20 ranger and the PvP is just awesome. So far i'm 102 kills 5 deaths.
Pre-order this game you won't regret it.

WTF...well I wrote a line of stuff, but I guess the server dislikes me.
So short version:
Fun Factor=High
Lag Factor=High(pre patch), Now its fairly good even though everyone is loggin in to test the Open PVP.
Gank Factor=High, they need to put in a "safezone" for rezzers otherwise griefing is WAAAY too easy.
Creating Griefing=High. I was grinding near Ach ruins and there is a "lava river" well here comes a d**k with one of his knockbacks and I see myself running back. But I gotta admit I was Laughing my ass off.

Its awesome on the level of being a good FFA PVP game, there hasn't been a GOOD FFA PVP yet. The closest thing was Shadowbane with a decent, and by decent I mean gameplay, because the UI in that game was UTTER SHIT and the lag was EFFING HORRIBLE.
So a lot of people are lookin forward to AoC due to the fact that they have an awesome engine, with good graphics, and that has behind it, a great concept that has worked out before.

Free trial anyone? Are they offering a free trial or going to offer one in the near future? Ive seen so little on this game to sway me in one direction or the other that Im not going to plunk down any money until ive had a chance to try the game.

I'm loving the game. I made a Cimmerian barbarian and I can't get enough of the combat system. Coming out of stealth with a big two-handed axe and breaking a guys neck with a fatality move is the most fun I've had in a game. If you're going to play a PvP server I would watch out for people later while trying to get quests. Some will gank you while you're in the quest dialogue and it gets annoying.
