I have seen how the Age of Conan looks, and I want to know if it is the next WoW. I never played any of those games before, so I cannot compare them. However, I am hoping that you can. I do not know which game to play, because AoC looks very similar to WoW. Which game is better? Which game would you recommend to me?

First, I want to say that Age of Conan is not next World of Warcraft. WoW is one and only, the original MMORPG. Every other game that came after this is just a pale copy. No other game would ever be called a true successor. I would always recommend for any player to first play WoW. Only then, you can see how the MMO concept is brilliant. In this game, you can get only the best gaming experience. Nothing less than that. No MMO games will ever reach the heights that WoW is holding right now. AoC will never be the next World of Warcraft.

As said before, AoC will cover its own market, but it will not kill WoW or become the next "WoW."

lol you make me laugh. i do agree, first off, that AoC will never be wow.. or anything like wow, but thats not a compliment to blizzard...
world of warcraft is in no way... the one and only original mmorpg, and its not even near the best that has been released. It's fan base is huge for many reasons, including the fact that its one of the only games available to both all PC and Mac users. Others would be its incredibly easy interface system, and how user friendly it is, and how hard it is not. Though I played WoW for over 2 years, and will say that it is a great game and I was just as addicted as any other wowhead out there, i spent 5 years on dark age of camelot, and will always consider mythic to be a successor. Gameplay styles and opinions are of course different for everyone here, I'm not demanding that DAoC was a better game than wow, but I will say that 90%+ of real, pioneer MMORPG players (from ultima to age of conan) will agree, that wow is not the best, or the "one and only mmorpg"... whatsoever.

Im hoping its not the next 'wow' in the sense that there will be toyota commercials and Mini Me* ( excuse spelling ) about it.
I think what the gaming community wants is somthing that is unique and special to them and their friends that they ENJOY playing. Somthing that was has not become.
Wow was great before the xpac, now everybody looks the same, cant tell if they have raid or arena gear unless you inspect them, endless grind after grind, its just the same thing over and over again.
If you look at Lord of the rings online they did alot of things right (and alot wrong ) in the sense that you non stop quest your way to max level. From level 5 until a month after I hit max level i always had a full 40 quests in my log, all had great stories, no grinding, ever mob dropped an item you needed so you didnt have to kill 100 bears to get 10 of 1 item, they just added more quests, which kept the pace moving along at a very interesting pace.
Somthing wow has forgotten, to keep things interesting.
They did add a few different daily quests in some area's that involved different styles of gameplay like the bombing quests and such but the rewards besides a little gold were terrible. You could just go and hit spacebar in AV and get far better items
Lotrol pvmp you at leaste have to participate to see any kinds of rewards, but there just isnt much there, its taking over the same few bases over and over and over...
I have high hopes on this one, im sure there will be things to iron out I just hope they listen to their players

I think AoC will be aimed at a niche market, it would be disappointing if it became like WoW.
There is still a NDA so details are still to come however from what is known it won't follow WoW.

If you like to watch cinematic clips every time you get a quest, turn in a quest, or move from one locations to the next. Then you might like AoC
If you don't like to click auto attack and would prefer to button smash auto Attack... Thank you might like AoC
I know for a fact that AoC will not be the next WoW.
The next wow wont happen for another few years.

Wow copied so many aspects of other games and added a retarded PVE experience. Wow ruined multiplayer gaming and should be canceled for the greater good of those brainwashed playing it.
The truth is WoW's final days are coming and a large blow will come from either AoC or WAR probably both. after that it's all down hill for WoW.
Mythic knows what players want and they will capitalize on it. They learned from their mistakes in DAOC and they know what their doing.
Funcom is brining something totally new and exciting to the gaming experience, yes some of it are aspects of other games but it's going to be epic.
WoW dies, one step closer to a brighter tomorrow.
Wish i never played it.

The reason MANY people will be playing AoC is because it ISN'T WoW.... why would anyone want it to be like WoW?...
If you like WoW... play WoW... if you like something different.. play AoC

Based on my AOC experience, all i can say is AoC will be a fun game, but it won't be as good as wow and it won't get even a million subs.
Imo the only thing it has is gfx and a combat system. Although gfx are nice and surprisingly well optimised, combat system is a huge fuzz, created only to fit it in Xbox 360.

Age of Conan will not be the next Warcraft, though it does seem to have some aspects similiar to WoW such as the skill trees. The graphics are a lot higher end, perhaps to a detrimental point since such high requirements will cut down on potential subscribers.
Also the M rating may somewhat ironically attract more immature players.

Ha ha I'm looking forward to a change... I wasn't going to try it at first, because when I first started playing I got terribly addicted to WoW, and I swore never again (after I cooled off and quit for the first time), but now it seems sort of appealing from what I've read.
