I don't have a 64 bit cpu, but I helped my friend build a A64 4000+ system quite a few months and he has been running x64 ever since.

I don't think Intel has produced any Northwood cores for the past year or so possibly longer, I doubt they ever will again either. The last one was like a 3.4ghz crap on the old s478.
http://indigo.intel.com/compare_cpu/default.aspx?familyID=1 <- link to Intel Product information
To answer you question tho - No Intel does not make 64bit CPUs using the Northwood core.
The earliest 64bit processor they make is a Pentium 4 506, which is a 2.66ghz cpu using prescott core on s775.
Sorry.

I was under the impression that XP 64 uses 32bit emulation for non 64 bit apps resulting in almost double the resources to run it.
Am I mistaken or has that changed?

You are half right. XP64 has a 32bit emulator; however, it uses far less resourses than 32 bit Windoze, and is noticibly faster.

Have any reference material to back that up? I knew it had a 32bit emulator but I was under the impression it used more resources not less than the standard 32bit Windoze.
If it actually uses less I may try XP 64 again.

So you're saying if I have XP64 and am running 32 bit applications, the emulator will perform better vs. windows xp 32-bit? you kidding me?
Time to research that for confirmation. Shit i'll buy xp64 after I type this if thats the case.
My only quirk is that nvidias xp64 drivers are rather s****y.
