More and more it seems that the majority of new products and services are being designed with the intent to supply a greater and greater degree of instant gratification to people. People want things now and it doesn't seem like there is a whole lot of patience anymore and businesses target this impatience and this feels like it is spreading to every aspect of American culture at least (instant messenging, cell phones, fast food, credit cards, etc)

Anyone else notice this kind of thing happening? I have been thinking about this for a while and was just wondering if you agree and what this might have in store for the future.

i think it's been happening for the last 200 years bud.

it's just changing at a much faster rate now.

faster faster faster.

my dad and i were talking about this just the other day. he's an attorney. he was mentioning that he has a harder time keeping up with people. it used to be that you'd respond to peoples letters, so you had a couple days allowance, and then it was faxes, so you had a few hours grace period. Now it's emails and people want replies and info now now now damnit.

i asked him how he ever got any work done without his cell phone. he's on it whenever he's in his car, it's crazy.

Customers will more strongly associate positive experiences with your product if results are immediate...or so it goes.

yeah it's true. when people used to email me saying they wanted to buy plat, or items, and i'd be around to hear teh MSN messenger thing go "ding!" and i'd respond to them in 10 seconds... they'd reply and be like "DAMN THAT WAS FAST YOU GUYS ROCK"

and then they'd be regular customers. chaching.

We laugh at cyborgs, but someday we may all have little chips in our head that allow us instant communication with others, maybe even "project" their image before our eyes.

Maybe we'll even be able to access a WWW like thing with our minds someday.

I hope someday we get robots to do our work for us, and depending on what kind of robot you can afford you can hire it out for different jobs.. like black people would have s****y wind up robots and they would be like burger king workers.

Everytime cyborgs are brought up, everyone laughs arrogantly as if they knew what the future holds...so yes!
