Hi! I am just mentioning here what I heard so please dont shoot me if I am spreading wrong info. I havent played Guild Wars so far so I know just some basic things about this game, like what the story is about, characters, etc. Here comes the question; as I said maybe is just rumor but I would like to know more about this subject and that is; instant death traps do they exist in Guild Wars and how they work?

Hello! Instant death traps, what you mean by that? I must say I havent been playing Guild Wars much, and in that short time I never saw traps, I think. I know there are areas, kind of like wastelands with sulfurous gas flow in them that could be fatal for your characters health, unless you become the best friend with giant sand wurms. Is that what you were thinking of?

The only place I know of in GW that kills you instantly is the sulfurous wastes - you cannot go into them on your bare feet, you need to finish a particular mission before you learn how to traverse the area.
You may also be referring to ranger traps. Rangers can place traps that trigger when you walk on them. If many many rangers sit on the one spot and plant many many traps, then it is possible for you to die ALMOST instantly when you walk over them. However, it takes way too many rangers and way too many traps for this to work effectively.
There is basically nothing in GW so imbalanced that it can kill you in 1 hit, except some bosses, haha

Well, in PvP battles, if you try to enter someone elses base... You get hit 999dmg, which is *normally* instant KO for most.
If you're up against a large group of trappers, (rangers), then you'll get into their traps, and if they're good, you'll be wiped out in seconds by the amount of damage, cripple, bleeding and poison.

^^ That's only in Alliance battles. And 999 damage always kills everybody in one hit - it ignores armor. This is only to stop people spawn camping of course.

It doesn't stop spawn camping since it only causes damage to the other team.
There are some professions that can use skills/spells to raise over 1000hp though aint there? Aka - Dervish.
