I've done it quite a bit. I never had any problems unless the Win2k installation was messed up already.

id never install over anything


only fresh

installing over always causes some subtle problem

but thats different than formatting Smile

fdisk is also your friend - but only on a boot disk with DOS Razz

Either one works fine. Be sure you have a good crack though...some keys won't allow you to update your copy.

Why would you go through all that trouble tho?
Much easier to do it from the winxp disk.

Crap, how will I know if it's good on the install?

I got the Media version, whatever the f**k that means. There was another 2001 XP which seemed a little old but was on bittorrent. They also listed service pack 1 and 2 which were almost as big as the install. Do I really need the SP?

I just started downloading it last night and it should be done when I get home.
