I read about all expansion packs at the games official site. However I would like to see some independent reviews of the game, especially for AI expansion pack. The story seems pretty interesting to me, aliens attacking the Rubi Ka world. But it seems it isnt quite suitable for beginners? Is it true?

Yes, newcomers can be easily lost in AI. Also, it is not really a good expansion pack for soloers. There are lots of good reviews on this expansion, such as those at gamespot, ign, gamespy. There is also an introduction video on gamespy. The review at gamespot is most thorough and unbiased.
