Would you rather use your voiceprint than your fingerprint to ID you? Don't nitpick crap like people with colds, getting older, going thru puberty, etc. I'm just saying: If voiceprints were 100% reliable, would you feel less afraid of bio-ID'ing?

I use fingerprint ID and I'm going to change the locks on the building to be fingerprint/keypad in the near future. I'd rather use it than voice. I wouldn't like to have to 'talk' at my computer everytime I wanted to unlock my screen, etc. I wouldn't mind it as an augment to another ID system that I didn't access too often tho.

One requires use of vochal chords and one requires the use of an external appendage. The ease of cutting off someone's finger to use for the scan makes it less ideal in terms of safety when considering thievery etc..so yes, it would make me feel less apprehensive towards Bio scanning.
BUT...
I know of some technology that is being developed at the moment that uses Bio ID on the fingers, but it's much more advanced than the technology that is currently available. It dissallows thievery via severed fingers, simply because a severed finger has different properties than a living and functionally attatched finger would. I will not go into details, but it is there and it definitely works. If Voice ID was 100% reliable, there wouldn't be a need for any of these other technologies, so I suppose a lot of people would be less afraid. *nod* But with the newer tech specs on these products coming out, it could go either way, and severed finger scanning thievery will be a thing of the past. (or not a thing at all!)

Yeah none of this works. You could have an anal cavity scanner or you are going to get robbed. All of the major companies have them now.

voice is not as pimp as a cold computerized female voicing telling you shit like :"Retinal scan complete Identity confirmed [Jack Crow], your access is confirmed. Have a nice day"
Then I walk into a kickass room filled with hot spy b*****s and computers and blinking lights and shit and some dude named only Z-12 hooks me up with laser watches and rocket boots!

finger, since you would have to touch the pad if you wanted something to open instead of having to make sure you dont say the password around the lock or whatever device you have the program attatched to.

I'm sure people wouldn't make their password like the clapper. usually you would say your last name and an employee ID for places that would actually need to spend the money on a security system more advanced than a key card. You aren't going to be sitting around in the break room at Vons and doors will be all flying open because your wassword is anal lube.

I think I would be more prone to Retinal scan then I would Voice/finger print scan.
Granted I'm sure there is a way to fake all of the above one way or another, so f**k it gimme cash and I'll pray I don't get mugged

Um. I think he meant a system that will analyze your voice pattern, which I'm pretty sure is unique to every person like a fingerprint. Not voice recognition software to tell if you said the right word or not.
