Yo there all of you MMORPG fans and lunatics. Do not even think about signing up for the Beta testing or even playing this awful and pitful product. As I realized, there is no Conan at all. He is one big king, and you are supposed to be one ordinary, brainless warrior that swings with its sword so slowly that puts me to sleep in no time. More than that, I think that hardware requirements are over abnormal! Total miss.

Is it that bad? Now, I am really confused. Because, from what I saw on the game trailer, I made a conclusion that game leads nowhere else, but to a brand new multiplayer online gaming experience. It is somehow slower than expected, but tell me which game was OK in the earliest stage of development? I think it will be much better than LOTRO is now.

The hardware requierement is justified. You can't believe how beautiful the game is in full détail. Then at lvl 60 you have a quest to meet Conan, he gives you a mission.
This game is awesome imo, there're still bugs but less than any other mmo at their starts.

This is not entirely true, what the problem is with AoC, is that we kind of are paying to Beta Test at the moment.
Considering the game does have a lack of content, it's not that that different form the launch of WoW.
WoW had nothing as well, when it launched.

From playing WoW and AoC at release, they both were some what abysmal.
Loads of fun, but there was many many bugs.
I'll be doing what I did when WoW released.
Play it for a bit, and come back in 4-5 months when the ironed the "game breaking" bugs. And enjoy it with some friends.

the problem with AoC is the way zones are made, I would prefer a seamless environment with no loading times in between. I just feels like Im going to one zone to another and it reminds me of guild wars unfortunately.

AoC, after a month of release is a huge let down or it might be that we expected way too much?

combination of both really, I really was rooting for AoC to do extremely well.
and while for awhile I enjoyed the game it started to sink in to me that it was not living up to my expectations
now combined with the fact that I've got irl priorities that I'm obligated to do, the game just does not appeal to me anymore =\

the game has potential.
the main problem is Funcom has showed they have learned little from their terrible AO launch. AoC is still plagued with alot of buggy raid content (each week least 1 tier 1 raid becomes unraidable...cough Yakmar...cough). At launch there was huge class inbalance that Funcom addressed by nerfing everyone pretty much. Tradeskills/resource gathering are an abomination.
the game has great visual, the client while still buggy, runs 100times better then when I played closed/tech betas, and the group PVP is exciting.

It's a good idea to wait for a bit. The flaming and the fanboy cries will die away, and you can get a trial to get your own feel for the game. Buy before you try > blind devotion.

I'm satisfied that I cancelled my pre-order, still.
It seems like everyone is advancing in AoC wayyy too fast. I'm a fan of the games that take quite a bit longer to level.
The instances (like AO) don't sound too intriguing, either.. especially coming from years worth of playing AO. They get old, fast.

Agreed that the leveling curve is too fast, i reached 80 within 2 weeks and have spent the time up until now doing a few raids and helping the rest of the guild level. There really isn't much else to do until they tsrat adding all the promised content.
Seiges are a big let down and far from complete. So much for all the promises of that htey had tested them thoroughly internally. They never made it onto beta.

There is no way Funcom can recover AOC to have 700,000 subscribers again.
They sold us an unfinished product, with barely of the features they promised.
Which is pretty much like...
"Heres a car, it's the best car in the world, it has everything u can ask for!"
But when you get the car, it has no doors, no steering wheel, and no engine.
Chances are, you will not drive the car, and you will tell your friends about how the car dealer (funcom) scammed you.

The game has no end game content. There have been many players that hit 80 in the first week and left with nothing else to do. They never calculated in heavy gamers into the equation and how to cater to that. I wasn't a person to hit 80 in one week, because I simply do not have that much time to do that; however, I did hit 80 in about 3 weeks of playing. I have quit playing because there just simply isn't anything to do after 80 but raid for sub-par epic gear.

It's not that we didn't test and report during beta, more that everything we said was ignored. The Devs had their own vision of the game and classes and were open to very little feedback.

Way too long? It takes a week to reach 80 for someone like me, the real power gamers can do it in 2 or 3 days without PL. How is that too long?

Yeah and when you hit lvl 80 there's absolutely nothing else to do except either roll an alt or quit.

The pvp isn't that great and after they announced that you couldn't destroy other peoples guild cities I lost all faith in the game.

to say that these bugs are true of any mmo just isnt the case. AOC's problems extend further than just "bugs". Theres massive memory leaks in the client that affects pc's of varieing specs, the classes are totally unbalanced and the feats are all but useless for most classes. It needs some serious serious work.
