I'm thinking of opening up a small restaurant type place. Only we won't server normal dinners. It's going to be a sort of Dessert only type place. Like a restaurant that only serves desert. Not a bakery, but a homemade desert place. Think of Baskin Robbins but with cheesecake and coffee and tons of other types of desserts.

Does that sound like a decent plan for a small business?

Thanks in advance for the rude comments and help Wink

It could be good. There's a place in Atlanta that serves primarily dessert called cafe intermezzo. Their menu actually has dinner, but people mostly go there for cake and such. It's really good , they're open until 2 am and they do a very brisk business. I think it's a workable business if done right. Here's a review:

I have yet to see someone that wasnt 100-200 pounds overweight buy anything to eat at starbucks. I go in every morning and get a triple expresso, and yeah, I haven't yet.

Yes, it does sound like Starbucks, but where they specialize in coffee we specialize in desserts. We'd have coffee. Not a cappucino, frappacino, latta mocha soy machine. Coffee, water, tea, cokes...etc...

there used to be a chain around here called sanders that was desert only. they closed all stores that i know of.

could be a good idea, but as the U.S. is switching to a more healthy eating country, your timing might be a bit off

It could work if you are or have a pastry chef. Take it a step further and cater for weddings and functions.
