I was just reading EGM and Konami said they are making a new Castlevania for the PS2 that's being created by the same people who made Symphony of the Night.

SoTN was so awsome. One of my favorite old PS games. I got really hyped for the 64 one, and that turned out to be utter shit. What was Konami thinking with that...? Hope they don't s***w this one up. It would be great to see this franchise re-established!

Konami today announced that the celebrated videogame franchise Castlevania® will debut on the Sony PlayStation® 2 in Fall 2003. Castlevania® for PlayStation® 2 is being reinvented from the ground up by legendary game producer, Koji Igarashi at Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo.

I think the only word that could ruin the game would be 3D. It just doesn't work, the game f*****g rules as a sidescroller.

Making a 2D-based mid-'80s game into a 3D platformer is not even remotely similar to the history of the Castlevania series.
