I changed my truck radio station back to a classic rock station.

I have been fighting it for over a year now, but I reached my breaking point. I have been listening to the local "modern rock"?? station now for years, 92.3 K rock, Howard Sterns home station. Its been my main station, the one I would just leave on and not change. I have been listening to it for at least 13 years now, but no longer. Slowly but surely over the years the music I grew up with has been regulated to the "classic rock" stations and more and more new music has taken over, as to be expected.

But I can't take it anymore.

This "generation"s music SUCKS.

Its been taken over by such s****y music I find myself changing it more often than I care to, so now I never put it on. Except for a few songs by I don't know the name, the rage against the machine/new lead singer group, all the music blows cow c**k.

Its all..

Rock with rap mixed in.
Rap with rock mixed in.
Whiny, prepubescent, girlyman voiced punks, crying about b******t.
Whiny, prepubescent, girlyman voiced punks, rock/rapping about b******t.
Flat out wigger rap that doesn't even pretend to be rock(eminem)
s****y rock that sounds like the f*****g Beach Boys with their balls cut off.
s****y f*****g ballads sung by whiny bimbos and little boys who sound like bimbos.

And almost every song seems to be complaining about some f*****g thing. Whining and complaining, what a bunch of f*****g p*****s and c***s. Its f*****g sickening.

Even Creed, who is relatively new and is not exactly a favorite of mine is never played. They play it on the "classic rock" station.

Man, and the sad thing is, this shit that has taken over is popular it seems.

You youngins are so f****d its not even funny.

When I'm in my car I use the CD player. When I'm in my shit box, 1986 p**s yellow Nissian pickup with 206, 000 miles on it, working with cement and dirty things, I use the radio strictly.

I call my truck the Bumble Bee BTW, for thoes who name their vehicles:)

Today's 'rock' music does blow. It's pretty sad commentary when the only tolerable songs are remakes... and even then the originals are better.

Is Kid Rock so desperate for a hit that he needs to remake Feel Like Makin' Love? And does he really believe he sounds even a 1/10th as good as Paul Rodgers did singing it?

Agreed, replay on the radio is atrocious. But that applies to stations playing new stuff too, only instead of playing the same songs for 20 years, they just play the same songs every 90 minutes for a few months.

I feel blessed our rock station in seattle hasnt completly embraced most of the new crap out there, I will sit here and be happy listening to alternative being played till the groove is gone on the radios turntables.

So ive heard "Black" 10 times today, its better than listening to 1 track of linkin park.

Yeah, some of the stuff is ok, but their seems to be a ton of bands that about sound the same. I can't tell you who sings what, I don't like 70% or more of the new stuff out on the local rock station. We listen to a 70s/80s station in the morning at work since they dont have a talk show, then switch to either the new rock station or a mix of new rock and classic rock one. My least favorite is the new rock one, too much of the everyone sounds the same crap, atleast with the mix one you get a break from Creed knockoff #10 .

Creed is one of the worst bands ever.

it's sad that they get played on a classical rock station.

in seattle there's KZOK. and they're pretty damn cool.

but i listen to all stations almost.

only station i cant handle 99% of the time is the damn smooth jazz shit.

kenny g can choke on a c**k and die.

but sometimes they play marvin gaye and that's cool.

I'll listen to the live club feeds on the radio, now that is new stuff I like. Rarely hear the same mix more than a few times, there's a pretty short shelf life with that genre.

The lyric goes 'catch a pearl and ride the dragon's wings.'

Symbolism taken from a Chinese fable, the story is about a boy who toiled, gathering grass from dawn to dusk every day, earning just enough to feed himself and his mother. One day his whole life changed when he found a magic pearl, a pearl whose magic included transforming him into a mighty dragon, provider of the long-awaited rains.

That's why Asia was (still is, actually) so great. Very thoughtful, intelligent music.
