Hello. I've just recently discovered Second Life. I'm just getting my feet wet, exploring and stuff… I've been wondering, when you buy land, would it be possible to somehow limit the flying in the area, either ban it altogether or limit it to certain characters only? I don't own any land yet, I'm just curious.

Sure, it's possible, and in fact many places enforce the rule already, as you should be able to see. The "yes fly" or "no fly" properties can be set on the sim level, or more narrowly on the parcel level. For more details, search the LS wiki over here: wiki.secondlife.com
