You need to drink a shitload of water. One of the greatest things about the atkins diet is less s***s and no farting. I think I didn't fart for a solid month once. I tended to take a shit every other day. One thing that helps though is dirty water dogs. Get some sabarret hot dogs , boil them, then let them simmer for a long time. I used to eat like 5 a day, they help to keep you regular. That along with at least a gallon of water a day.

This too. If you don't eat alot, you wont have much at all to shit. I ate tons of meat each day. 5 hot dogs was a bed time snack. I would do giant steaks for dinner, 7 eggs or more and bacon for breakfast. That along with many snacks, hardboild eggs, cheese, and the new candy bars that taste like real chocolate with no carbos each day. I was an eating machine and I still lost weight.

Atkins is great... I've done it a time or ten. My problem is consistency (and having a kid and a wife with a fast metabolism that keeps all kinds of high carb snack foods and chocolates and sodas in the house while i'm trying to diet and drinks and eats in front of me which forces me to ruin my diet after 3 weeks or so).
When I AM doing Atkins, my diet is very similar. I drink at least a gallon of water a day and do cardio every other day alternating with a lifting workout.
If you are having trouble pooping, you might want to try out a mild laxative to get things working, and if you REALLY get compacted to a painful level, you can get one of those nice little home enema kits. Sure, you think an enema is nasty, and so do I (luckily I've never had to use one) but if you are constipated so bad you can't sit comfortably, you'll use it and be thankful.

Where can i get info on this atkins thing.
I'm getting way to friggin fat and i need to loose about 35-40 pounds (well i need to loose 25 but i'd rather loose some more heh) to be back in uber shape!
So far only diet i've tried is Scarsdale but that's pretty intense and doesn't leave much room for anything. Does loose me 16-20 pounds in 2 weeks but after that its jojo time

Drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day to hydrate your body, avoid constipation and flush out the by-products of burning fat.
If you are constipated, mix a tablespoon or more of psyllium husks in a cup or more of water and drink daily. Or mix ground flaxseed into a shake or sprinkle wheat bran on a salad or vegetables.

Only if you drink 40+oz and then excercise rigorously afterwards.
Trust me... this has been tested!
(I should also add that you'll be p*****g out of both ends!)

This is amazing. Or, rather, the predictability and absolute consistency of humans is amazing.
If you do anything and it interferes with basic body functions (bowel movements, sleep patterns, libido) for more than a week - do you really think this is healthy?
Oh - but you've lost fat. Right. Congrats.

I sorta do a half-assed version of Atkins. Don't eat any refined sugar or carbs except for one day a week and I eat fruit, even though that probably isn't in line with Atkins. Haven't had any problem with constipation. I lost a lot of weight fast in the beginning, but now it's slowed way down and I lose maybe a pound a week. I also ride my bike 5 or so days a week. That and not eating sweets is enough to keep my weight dropping, even though it might not be Atkins in the strictest sense of the word. I don't eat 10 pounds of beef a day like Kbarr was talking about, I tend to eat too much cheese though. I <3 cheese.
If you want to get the waterworks goin, go get a bag of dried apricots. Might not be on your diet, but if you eat half a bag of those suckers, you will want to be near a bathroom within half an hour and plan on spending some time in there

Fiber = regularity
Fiber generally comes from complex carbs, fruits and vegetables
Atkins /= complex carbs, and limits the others
Therefore, Atkins /= regularity
I have yet to meet a single person who has lost weight and kept it off for any length of time on this diet, and I know ALOT of people on this diet. I don't understand why people do this to themselves. Honestly, do people believe that this diet was anything other than a way to make shitloads of money off of people desperate to try anything to lose weight?
So, since this is a subject dear to my heart, I'll annoy everyone with tips for a good diet that works permanantly and is HEALTHY! This comes from someone that lost 60 lbs over the course of six months and kept it off for 10+ years. I went from a size 13 to a size 5 and never actually dieted.
Lose the diet - diets are BAD. Diets can actually make it harder to lose weight over time because they are generally something you cannot live with forever. You start to yo-yo and each rebound makes it that much harder to remove the weight next time. Establishing healthy eating habits that you can live with for the rest of your life is critical to long-term success.
All things in moderation. Yes, you can eat chocolate, refined sugars, simple carbs, complex carbs, high fat food, low fat food - you just need to limit the amounts you eat. If you love chocolate, do not deny yourself because it is a recipe for failure. Just don't eat three chocolate bars a day. A fudge pop or a few oreos will keep the cravings away and prevent binging. Always include a few no-no foods in your eating plan to prevent binges. I generally allow myself about 200-300 calories a day to no-nos and it works well for me.
Complex carbs are good in the mornings, afternoon and evening should be heavier protein. All breads, pasta, etc should be whole wheat when at all possible. A very light protein snack (no comments please) right before bed will keep your metabolism going through the night. My favorite is a small apple with a TBSP on peanut butter, yum! Other than a light snack, never eat after 8-9pm (depends really on your bedtime).
Never starve yourself and always, always eat a good breakfast. Your body will go into famine mode if you don't feed it, slowing down your metabolism and making it even harder to lose weight. You must eat to lose weight.
If you are losing more than 2-3 lbs a week, you are setting yourself up for health problems and more difficulty losing weight later. Slow and steady really does make a difference in your overall health and well-beaing, energy level and ability to maintain the loss. Remember, if you don't eat enough, your metabolism will slow down and you will stop losing.
Fat needs to make up at least 20-30% of your daily intake of calories for health and for satisfaction. You are much more likely to stay on a diet if you are satisfied. Fat makes you feel full and satisfies cravings. Eating too little will set you up for binge eating. On the plus side, fiber (complex carbs) help wash some of the fat out of your system because fat adheres to it in the digestive tract. So if you eat a fiber-rich diet, you can expect a good 5% of your dietary fat will wash away before it gets to your *fill in your problem area here*
Okay, sorry, will go now. Will be quiet now.

Guiness isn't bitter at all. Or it shouldn't be. Try it at a better bar. Unless it's some sort of genetic "things taste different to different people" thing.

Pearls before swine, man.
If you sell a bottle of pills at $90 per pill and claim it will make them thin, you'll sell your whole stock.
No one wants to do things the right way. It works. And if the right way fails, well, they only have themselves to blame.

I did the exact same thing as Luturb explained. I'm not really one to give advice on this kind of stuff but aslong as you stay away from bread, pop and sugar in general you should be gtg. I played sports a few times a week and lost 60 pounds. Unfortunatley, the last 10 - 15 b***h ;p
