So I was out at the state gameland with my Remington 30-06, I was looking for a deer or another hunter to shoot, I was in a primal avatar hunting mood. As I roamed through the forest I approached a clearing. I noticed a stirring in a bush near the clearing, so I raised my rifle scope to see what creature had caused the commotion. Through my scope I saw that it was an overly large game bird, a turkey I immediatly deducted. The bird was an estimated 75 yards away from me. I adjusted my scope to compensate for distance and then watched the bird for a moment. I opened the bolt on my rifle and blew into the chamber. Then removed a bullet from my pocket and inserted it into the rifle. I closed the bolt and raised the rifle to my shoulder. I looked through the scope and saw that the animal was picking at leaves of some sort. I decided to let it be for a moment as a psycho toys with his victim. Then out of some kinda of super natural force, the turkey was allerted to my presense, it looked straight into my scope, into my soul. This was my moment, I own it, I better never let it go, yo. I looked back at the turkey in my cross hairs and I euthanized the animal. The remington rocked backwards and my shoulder was pushed throwing off my line of sight, but I knew the bird was down. I regained composure and scanned the horizon for the animal. I knew a torso shot would have been easier, but I'd put the bullet into the bird's skull, shattering it and sparing the body for carving. As I approached the bird that was now convulsing on the ground, I picked up the half dead, throbbing carcass and held it so that the blood could drain, I estimate the bird weighed at least 30 lbs. It was to be a feast of a thanksgiving, indeed.
