I have yet to find a really good thread about this, and i've spent a considerable amount of time looking.
Currently I'm specced heavy on pet stuff, as i soloed all the way to 56 pretty much.
Eventually i'm going to have to switch to being a dps machine.
So is 31/20 the way to go?
This is pretty much what i'm looking at
Improved Aspect of the Hawk Rank 5
Endurance Training Rank 5
Bestial Swiftness Rank 1
Unleashed Fury Rank 4
Thick Hide Rank 5
Beast Mastery Total: 20
Marksmanship Mastery
Improved Concussive Shot Rank 5
Improved Hunter's Mark Rank 5
Lethal Shots Rank 5
Aimed Shot Rank 1
Mortal Shots Rank 5
Scatter Shot Rank 1
Hawk Eye Rank 3
Ranged Weapon Specialization Rank 5
Trueshot Aura Rank 1
Marksmanship Total: 31
A question i have though is this: Why is concussive shot better than efficiency? For a PvE build, should I be firing concussive shot at every mob with a chance of stunning and reducing damage?
Is that better than the 10% mana save? How useful is concussive shot? I really only use it when i fight runners (rarely) or in pvp...

Replace Thick Hide(5) with Ferocity(5). If you're going for DPS, +15% crit for pets is huge. My pet has a 23-25% crit rate.
Replace Improved Hunter's Mark(5) with Efficiency(5). Max hunters mark is 110 at 60. 15% of 110 = 16.5 attack power for 5 talent points. That's 8agi, or about 1 dps (14 atk power = 1dps i think).
Efficiency is like adding 10% to your total mana, still not great, but points need to be spent to get further down the tree, and it just doesn't seem worth it to spend 5 talent points for 16.5 attack power.
Plus if you have a w***e warlock like Yanbik in your guild, half the time your hunters mark is overwritten by his 239048234 dots. 
Change those 2 and it's the exact template i'm using.

Improved Hunter's Mark - 5/5 points
Increases the Ranged Attack Power bonus of your Hunter's Mark spell by 15%.
Lethal Shots - 5/5 points
Increases your critical strike chance with ranged weapons by 5%.
Aimed Shot - 1/1 point
An aimed shot that increases ranged damage by 70.
Mortal Shots - 5/5 points
Increases your ranged weapon critical strike damage bonus by 50%.
Hawk Eye - 3/3 points
Increases the range of your ranged weapons by 6 yards.
Ranged Weapon Specialization - 5/5 points
Increases the damage you deal with ranged weapons by 5%.
Trueshot Aura - 1/1 point
Increases the Ranged and Melee Attack Power of party members within 30 yards by 30. (does up to 120 atk I'm told at level 60 from higher ranks, lasts 30 minutes and has no refresh timer! Great for group utility)
Scatter Shot - 1/1 point
Survival Talents (11 points)
Precision - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to hit with melee weapons by 5%.
Improved Wing Clip - 5/5 points
Gives your Wing Clip ability a 20% chance to immobilize the target for 5 seconds.

I never played any of the new games before when they came out, just EQ and Realm before it. Thankfully I really do not have much interest in trying WoW atm.
Trying my hardest to find a new career so I can move back into NYC with my girlfriend, do not really ever see myself gaming again. If I do start up again, it will mean that my life is back in the s*****r and I am hiding from problems once more...

And you know this because you're playing WoW? The first 60 had something like 7 days played, I have 21 days played so a 60 and a 54 isn't neccesarily a lot of playtime.

Anyway you can add all the skills that you want to try to be cool and might even be damn hard to kill in battle 1 against 1 but in large scale battle it really wont matter how you built your toon.
