Blizzard is one of the smartest companies when making a mmorpg for income..
They made WoW in a way to where it takes so long to get anywhere that by the time you even started on endgame gear you have already played nearly a year.. Unless of course your like me and have no life and can play non-stop.. But even still.. You have to collect Primals and other things which take a very long time.. You are capped on pvp points weekly ( if your lucky enough to even get in a pvp team thats good ) which takes forever to get your pvp gear set.. The big Teir raids are so big that you have to go 100's of times to get a set of that..
Those are just a few of the things blizz has made time consuming.. Therefore you can play for years without ever becoming the best geared person in the game.. And the longer it takes you to collect these items the more money blizz makes..
Therefore Blizz is one of the best ( as far as making money ) mmorpg makes out there..
Thank goodness that Stargate Worlds is coming out soon LOL

thats true. But they also make great games afterall. All of their games (starcraft, diablo, wc1, wc2, wc3, diablo 2) have been a great success. So they are a very smart company and they really know how to please their subscribers =)

What is stargate worls? an MMO?
and yes, blizz is ingenius. they convince people that they're having fun by working towards a great goal, yet they're just getting them addicted and forcing them to waste their lives farming and paying blizzard to do it.

Time-sinks and an increasing difficulty to pass through raid dungeons and get high end equipment is what gets them their money. It's not complicated. It's basically the same way that a cocaine addiction works.

Don't hold your breath, it probably wont be that great. Though on the flipside they can just create new worlds so lore isnt really a problem unlike WoW.

Well in all my years of playing mmo's none of them start out AWESOME.. Takes many patches over alot of time.. I think stargate worlds will be a good game in the long run... Even if its not that great at least I won't be wasting tons upon tons of time trying to become a end game player in WoW

If the limit wasnt altered every so often (lvl cap, gear, ect...) then there would be no point in some1 playing the end of the game.
The game is fun and entertaining and that is its purpose.
Are blizz smart?: Yes because they give the new and old users a reason to keep playing their great game.

Has Blizzard ever made a bad game? My dream would be a Starcraft MMO. Until then it is WoW!

I agree, Blizzard has not failed us ever. Think long and hard as to why they scrapped SC ghost. It was probably a game that failed to meet their expectations and knew that the n**d populace would not approve either

Well your right blizz is very smart, make an incredibly addicting game and charge a monthly fee for it i mean, thats as good as it gets. how ever there game content and customer service are sub par in my book but you get your good with your bad i suppose
Cest la vie (sp?)

They learned to be smart over time. WoW has been out for a while in the beginning they werent experts about the whole thing. People would discover things that Blizzard had missed such as power leveling, gold buying, glitches and so forth. Blizzard had to become smart over time.
